BR Day 8 - Check it out

Both a little confused but curious, you and Beth sneak away through the woods, following the directions that Annette gave to Beth. Apparently she lives here on the grounds.

You come to a super nice, kind of outdoorsy-looking house that is pretty big. You just cut through the woods from the gym building, but this house isn't that far from the parking lot and the offices.

Annette answers the door, looking a bit surprised to see you both.

"I hope it's OK that I came along," you say. You are being polite, but also a little protective.

"Sure. But I thought you'd change first," Annette says with a little smile, looking at the two of you in your skimpy practice uniforms. Her eyes linger on your shorts. You aren't hard, but you have an obvious bulge anyway.

"Come in," she says.

You and Beth go inside. Annette has a really nice house... but she just leads you to the huge deck out back, where there is more nice furniture and a hot tub.

The hot tub isn't turned on. She invites you sit at the outdoor table. It's a beautiful night, and very peaceful.

She starts pouring wine.

"We shouldn't," Beth says.

"Don't worry, we aren't getting drunk. Your game isn't tomorrow, and one glass won't hurt. You did a good job out there tonight." Annette gives you both a glass. "It's OK that you're here, Riley. But this is really a conversation for me and Elizabeth."

"I can leave," you say to Beth, but she puts her hand on your leg.

"Stay," she says.

"Aww," Annette says, looking at you both. "That's sweet. I don't bite."

"I'm just confused. Am I in trouble?" Beth asks.

"Of course not. FUTA needs a face, Beth. I'm starting to think that face should be you."

Beth looks stunned.

"Why me?" she asks.

"You have something special. You're perky. Peppy. You have a perfect, sporty figure that just screams athleticism. You look amazing in stuff like that," Annette says, gesturing at Beth with her glass. "Strong, but cute and feminine. It's a lot in one person. You have energy. I've heard you say 'hiya' to people."

"I don't say that," Beth says, blushing.

"Yes you do," you say. You've heard her.

"If we can capture that energy and show it to the audience, you're going to suck them in," Annette says. "Instead of a group shot, I want the billboards and the busses to show your face."

"Wow," Beth says, dazed.

"Of course, it isn't my call," Annette goes on. "The producers have to go for it, but I think I can convince them."

She chatters on for a while, but the gist of the meeting is that she wants Beth to think about it. You end up just chatting about the pillow fight. Annette agrees it's silly, but the point of the show is to have a good time and bring people into enjoying soccer. Dumb events are good for people who want to be entertained, and if that fails, T&A works too. You look down at your boobs, squeezed into this tight outfit.

It's impossible to argue with Annette's logic... FUTA seems pretty well thought-out. Almost... suspiciously so.
