On the pedestal, a quill sits in an inkpot. With it you select your persona for the simulation... You draw a circle swiftly around the name 'Aurora', unsure of why the prospect of being cursed seems to excite you so much

From the page comes a light that alternates erratically between pink and blue, rumbling and unstable, destroying the room but washing over you harmlessly. The light seems to kickstart a transformation in your own body, and you feel your new form take shape: You notice the hair first, a cascade of gold and immaculate curls. A healthy 5ft 8", you're dressed rather conspicuously as a Caucasian peasant girl. You look to noble by far to pass as some bumpkin.

The light fled with the room, but the pedestal remains, the book with it. On it is written 'Choose where to begin the story'...
