Chapter 3 by Throwaway04 Throwaway04

What's next?

Assassin's Creed II

Remembered fondly to this day for its amazing Italian Renaissance setting, more engaging story and improved gameplay/mission structure over the first game, you decide AC2 is a great place to start.

The early hours of the game are mostly unchanged. It still follows Desmond's escape from Abstergo, with the beautiful Lucy, now looking even more like her actress, Kristen Bell. Desmond meets up with the modern day Assassins, and ventures back into the Animus, this time following Ezio Auditore.

We're introduced to Ezio, his adventurous world, and his family. The scene where he knocks on Cristina Vespucci, relatively chaste and subtle in the original, is shown in greater detail here. Ezio fucks her on the bed, against the wall, on every surface, their passionate young bodies gyrating against one another in the darkness.

Ezio's family are ultimately betrayed to the Templars by the treachourous Pazzi. Learning some skills and assassinating the man directly responsible, Ezio flees to his uncles villa out in the countryside.

It's in the segment after this, on Ezio's return to Florence, where you make a few more significant changes. Chief among them, are a number of sidequest chains.

Ezio can return to Rosa Colta brothel, where he learned the absolute basics of the Assassin trade from the ravishing madame, Paola. By doing additional missions for her, protecting her girls, and viciously punishing abusive clients, Ezio can grow closer, in more ways than one, with the brunette in the red silk gown. The... appreciation of every woman working in Firenze is no small bonus, either.

There's also another option, more emotional, less combat-heavy. Ezio can reunite with his beloved Cristina. While, depending on the player's choices, it can go the tragic route it did in AC: Brotherhood's flashbacks, you're also able to guide the romance in a more positive direction, with Ezio successfully reconnecting with Cristina and rekindling their love affair. She can even move to her own room in Monterrigioni's villa.

Finally, and in more of a departure from the original game's content, you add a sidequest that allows Ezio to become sexually involved with Leonardo da Vinci. Ezio has always had good chemistry with the famous artist, and it's a popular pairing among fans, but in the entire series, there isn't a single indication Ezio is anything less than heterosexual.

Still, you decide to change this, as it could lead to some interesting situations. You add a new type of collectible to the game, sketches and works of art that the famously absent-minded Leonardo has misplaced all across the various cities. Find and return enough to him, and he thanks Ezio in a scene charged with eroticism. The player is given the choice to have Ezio either reciprocate Leonardo's affections or politely rebuff them, remaining friends. After that, every time a landmark number of items are returned to Leonardo's workshop, the player is given the choice of developing the relationship further, taking it anywhere from friends with benefits, to a casual fling, to Leonardo being something like the love of Ezio's life.

All of these side quests and the player's progress in them mildly affect the story. For example, if Ezio and Leonardo are together, their cutscenes in the main story change to reflect their closeness.

Which sidequest do we begin with?
