Chapter 10 by Suckersoprano Suckersoprano

Does he take the offer?

Ask about the offer.

What other offer?” Dago asked, out of curiosity.

Lucifer almost had a glimmer of a smirk in his eyes, but his face stayed stony, “You can be my new favorite target forever, or you can live a comfortable life here in the Pride castle. I’ll give you power here and I’ll even let you have your pathetic friend occasionally. I’ve seen how he treats you; I know what he’s like to those he considers allies. He didn’t mourn you when you died, you know. I saw your burial; I’ve seen his entire life.”

Dago faltered a little bit. He did know that Marian had a tendency to be cold to those around him and downright heartless to those he didn’t give a sliver of care for.

“Exactly what are you suggesting?” Dago said, wetting his lips.

“You weren’t ever important to him, but I can make you powerful, more powerful than he is. I can make him respect you,” Lucifer said, knowing he already had Dago.

Dago’s morality was fighting with him, he did want Marian to look at him with respect, but he didn’t want anything to happen to him. The doubt was there and he wasn’t sure that was something he could accomplish on his own.

Lucifer carefully began to draw up a new contract, putting Dago as one of his more esteemed generals. Lucifer knew how he treated any one of his underlings could be construed as far from respectful, but Dago didn’t need to know that now. He could find out on his own. He’d be just under Mr. Cassius and Ms. Ripley with this contract.

“It’s there,” Lucifer said, placing it over the contract for Marian’s soul, “Things could be much easier for you this way. I know about your family, I know about the curse, I’m sure you don’t.”

Dago frowned, “My family? What does that have to do with it? What curse?”

“I didn’t think you knew,” Lucifer said, his mouth curling into a grin, “Your grandfather never respected you much either. Your own uncle killed you out of cold blood; your mother abandoned you, all of those lovely details.”

Lucifer had made a point of researching Dago Vivar after Marian’s adventure with Beelzebub. He had a hunch he knew who Dago Vivar was now, or more like what he was. Dago wasn’t thinking of Lilith and his loyalty to her right now. He was more appalled and angry with the knowledge he’d just received.

He never knew his grandfather, but the man who shot him… That was Tobias Archer. Which could only mean… He swore under his breath and bit his tongue to prevent himself from letting loose a long string of them.

“Your family is chronically unlucky because of your dear grandfather and his business with the heavens. He killed all of the mages in his time, did you know that? Everyone but himself. It’s fitting he has no soul, he never had much of a heart and was always brainless,” Lucifer continued.

“That can’t be true,” Dago said, trying to think of all of the reasons it wasn’t.

“Your grandmother never mentioned it, did she? I have her here, I believe. She was guilty of pride more than any other sin, wasn’t she?” Lucifer said, with a cruel smile.

Dago’s eyes shot back up to look at Lucifer. His mouth was agape, “You have her!?”

“You could make sure she was living a comfortable afterlife if you were one of my men,” Lucifer said, simply, inspecting his long nails.

Dago hesitantly took the pen and scribbled his name at the bottom of the contract with a shaking hand. He wasn’t sure if he should be upset or angry, but he knew he was terribly confused now. Lucifer casually rolled up the contract and it disappeared in a small puff of white smoke.

“You know, Marian knew all of this, I wonder why he didn’t mention,” Lucifer said airily, “Now, come here.”

Dago wasn’t sure what to do with any of that information. The **** underneath of Lucifer’s desk crawled out from underneath of it, allowing Dago to take the ****’s place. Lucifer’s fly was still unzipped and Dago could still see the saliva from the ****’s mouth glistening on Lucifer’s still hard cock. Lucifer sat down and pulled his chair closer.

Lucifer roughly grabbed Dago’s hair as he sucked for his part of this deal. In Lucifer’s sensitive state, it went quickly. Dago sat up and wiped his mouth, unable to shake the feeling that maybe he’d just sold his soul in another way.
