Ask Him Politely to Leave Her Alone

You watch as your mother composes herself from her laughing fit enough to wipe away her tears, give a quick nod, and take the man’s hand, all with a chuckle still on her face. The hobo drunkenly lead your mother the few steps it took to get to his tent. He pulled open the flap and allowed your mother enough space to fall down onto her hands and knees and crawl inside the tent. The homeless man quickly followed her in and then turned around zipping the flap shut, leaving him and your mother alone in the tent.
