Arrival

Nightwing approaches stately Wayne Manor via motorcycle, driving around back and activating the Batcave signal device giving him access to the hidden driveway. Nightwing parked and made his way to the watchtower teleporter. The cave is empty accept the bats fluttering in the background. No sign of Batman, probably on a case, and no Batgirl.

‘This has to be the some elaborate prank, I can hear the snickering from here.’ Nightwing thought as he entered his ID code to activate the teleporter. In an instant, he is sent from the cave to the moon where the HQ of the League.

Now arriving: Nightwing.

The moment he arrived, Dick looks upon his girlfriend Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl. Who is leaning on the teleport controls obviously expecting him

“Hello handsome, you’re here right on time.” She said.

“Okay Babs, what’s this about. Don’t tell me they convinced you to try and get me to join the Lea—

Before Dick could finish, Barbara grabbed him and pulled him into a searing kiss. The move took Nightwing’s focus away but he ultimately returned the affection before Batgirl pulled away.

“No questions, I planned this whole thing for you. Just enjoy the ride.”

As much as Dick was hesitant, he did not want to disappoint Babs. He swallowed his nerves and walked with Barbara to the recreation room of the watchtower. But before the door was opened, Batgirl let Nightwing in first. As he entered the room, the darkened room lit up and a host of women yelled.

“Happy Nightwing Day!!!”

Despite knowing the surprise, Dick still smiled at the banner hanging at the top above a table that had snacks, ****, and a cake. Surrounding the table were many recognizable faces. All of them women.

Batgirl stood next to Dick. “What do you think?”

“Nightwing Day?” Dick chuckled.

“Hey, the name works.” Babs crossed her arms.

“Batgirl and I made the banner ourselves.” Said an approaching Starfire. Member of the Titans and Dick’s ex-girlfriend.

“Hello Kory.” Dick said a little nervously. Especially with his current girlfriend is in the room. But Babs stood next to the Tameran princess.

“Relax boy wonder, Kory and I are cool. She and the other titans were a big help.”

“We couldn’t have done this without Barbara.” Said Donna Troy. Next to her stood Raven and Supergirl.

“Very nice work ladies. Where is Beast-boy and Cyborg—

“Hey, don’t cut us out of the credit!”

Dick looked and saw Black Cannery and Huntress. Members of Batgirl’s Birds of Prey team. The two hanged on each side of Nightwing.

“Have you decided to join the big leagues yet?” Black Canary asked.

“Well not yet, wait how did you manage to set this up in the watchtower?”

“We got permission.” Huntress commented and pointed to the women who were approaching the group. At the lead was Wonder Woman and walking beside her was Power-Girl, Zatanna, Vixen, Hawkgirl, and Jessica Drew(Green Lantern). Nightwing was a little shocked by the appearance of Wonder Woman and that she approved the surprise party.

“Thank you for all that you have done for us Nightwing.” The Amazon princess said with a smile.

“I was doing what a hero was born to do Diana.” Nightwing replied with his own slightly nervous smile.

Babs finally spoke up. “I think it’s time we all gathered around the table and grab us all a drink and some cake and celibrate the man we all came to appreciate, let’s hear it for Nightwing!!!”

One by one, the room erupted into applause and a few whistles as Nightwing stood and smiled with a little pride.

A small piece of Dick’s mind however told him that their was more to this party than meets the eye.
