Chapter 9
by bsnick
How do you pass the time?
Approach the girl
Having only rarely worn the dress you have on - the last one that Jacob hadn't somehow stained during the last week - you're not quite sure about approaching the boys, and so walk over to the girl.
"Hi," you say in greeting, but she's so concentrated on her book - or maybe her music - that she doesn't seem to hear you so you try again, only to get the same response.
Almost two weeks of going commando has made you forgetful about your lack of underwear, and so when you bend over to catch the girl's attention the men in the back get another eye-ful, and jab each other excitedly.
"Helloooo...." you call, waving your hand in front of her.
Looking up the girl reveals a scowling face that some might call strong, but probably not pretty. You can't help but smirk a little as you compare her to yourself. Her looks don't seem to be helped by the scarcity of make-up, nor the well-worn jeans and t-shirt. Plus, she seems to have a bit of extra meat on her bones.
Initially the girl glares at you, then as she gives your bent-over body the once-over she sneers.
"Lost your lamp post?" she asks.
"What?"
"Sorry, I don't do girls," she says, putting her blunt nose back in her book, leaving you sputtering. Did she just call you a dyke or something?
For a long moment you stay bent over her, confused by her words, taken aback by her hostility, and wondering what you should do now.
Pursue conversation with the girl, or look elsewhere for a way to spend your time?
