Antoine gets Nora and Steve into the Club

Antoine met Nora and her boyfriend outside the club.

“Thanks for organising this for us,” Nora said. “This is Steve, my boyfriend. When I mentioned the opportunity he said it’s somewhere he’d always wanted to visit.”

“Hi Steve, good to meet you,” said Antoine shaking his hand firmly. “I hope it lives up to your expectations.”

“Thanks,” said Steve. “To be honest I don’t really know what to expect. I’ve heard stories, but never known whether to believe them or not.”

“I think that’s the same for everyone on their first visit. Key things to remember are to be respectful and play nice. We like the club to be a good place to hang out and we have no tolerance for assholes,” said Antoine.

“I think we’ll be fine,” said Nora. “Steve is always very well behaved in public!”

Antoine shepherded the couple into the club.

“It gets busy,” he said. “So we should book you a booth for later. We don’t want you to miss out.”

He had a quick word at the desk and came back with a token. “This is for booth 3 between 8 and 830. Just present it and go on in,” he said. “Until then you can hang out in the bar and watch the show.”

Nora took the token. “Thanks,” she said. “Hopefully we’ll see you again during the evening.”

“No problem. I should be around. Maybe you’ll even see me on stage,” said Antoine with a wink.

It was just over an hour until their slot in the booth. Nora and Steve headed into the bar. They could see it was beginning to fill up, but were still able to get a table. A scantily clad waitress brought them a drinks menu.

“Just in time!” she said. “Shows about to start.”
