Answers the phone

The distinctive ringtone of Reece's phone plays.

"Excuse me ladies." Reece says as he sits up to leave, shutting the door behind him.

You look to Laura and realize she's already looking at you, smiling as well. You smile back, and she shuffles to the edge of the sofa.

"So how's your love life Bill?" She asks in a polite tone.

"Usual. I don't have one." You reply, your voice slightly betraying your sadness at the fact.

You think you saw her smile for a split second, but dismiss the thought. You hear Reece talking to his mum in the kitchen.

"Tea Guys!" He shouts to you.
