Another one, that pulls you unexpectedly closer to each other

"Hey, Rachel...?" You start after another moment of silence, seeing an opening right there. "If Bradley is your main man, how come you're not dragging some look alike with you back home?"

"Huh...?" She wonders, taking her eyes off the screen for a moment as she's confused by the question. "What do you mean?"

"Well, you're one fine looking woman you know..." You tell her with a playful smile, but hoping that she can see you're also entirely sincere. "So - seriously now - why no boyfriend?"

"Hmmm, I'm not into that..." Rachel smiles while turning her eyes back to the movie again, seeming to enjoy the compliment, though you're pretty sure you can see a hint of regret on her lovely face. It makes you think at first that she's not wanting to answer any further questions, but then she glances back again and winks at you playfully. "Why? You're not jealous, are you...?"

"I've not seen anyone to be jealous of so far." You reply, but with a somber nod towards the screen. "Except for Mr. Cooper of course..."

"I don't think you need to worry about that one!" She giggles and reaches out to pat your shoulder, but somehow loses her balance - most likely due to the **** - as she has to push herself up on her other arm, and ends up almost pulling you down on top of her.

With both of you laughing and trying to get back up again you suddenly find yourself looking directly into her beautiful eyes with barely an inch between you.

In an instant you both fall silent again, just looking at one another with your lips still parted in the middle of your laughter. For a moment you're certain that she's feeling exactly the same as you are, but just as you're about to lean in and kiss her she hesitates and then pulls away again.

"S-sorry..." She whispers as you sit back up by her side, and you can tell that she's not just apologizing for tipping you over. The silence that follows is about to turn awkward, before she suddenly reaches up for you again and press her soft lips against your cheek. "Just friends, okay?"

"Yeah, fine..." You manage a smile back at her, feeling like she's broken the dreary atmosphere at least, though still leaving a hole in your heart. As you look into her eyes again you see her still smiling however, lovely and invitingly as always. "Hmmm, do you mind if I...?"

"No, it's alright!" She's quick to accept, putting an arm around your shoulders as you lean closer again and cuddle to her side. She seems to enjoy the warmth of your body as much as you do hers, and just playfully puts her hand on top of your own and holds it in place as you accidently put it a little too high up on her thigh.

Just being close friends doesn't neccessarily have to mean that you must keep your hands off of one another...
