Another meeting with Professor Kukui

You and your mom go onto the balcony, enjoying the sunrise. "Ahh, it feels so good!" exclaims your mom. She then gains back her senses. "All right, today's the day that I finally unpack..." Suddenly, the doorbell rings.

"Can you go see who it is, [insert player name here]?" asks your mom. You nod and head to the kitchen/living room.

Before you reach the door, it is opened and in comes Professor Kukui again. "Hey there, [insert player name here]! It's about time we set out for the festival, yeah! But first, I gotta show you something. Come find me at Route 1!"

Before he can leave, though, your mom enters the room and meets up with you and the professor. "Have fun at the festival, sweetie! I'm sure you'll have a good time with your new Pokemon pal! Don't worry about the boxes, me and Meowth will unpack every last one here."

You follow Professor Kukui to the right side of your house instead of the left side that you took yesterday. "Come on, hurry up, cousin!" says Kukui as you're trying to keep up with him, "Pretend you're a Pokemon and use your Agility!"

You both reach a path that cuts through some tall grass. Professor Kukui takes the time to introduce you to wild Pokemon.

"So you know that wild Pokemon will sometimes jump out at you in the tall grass, yeah? Now with your Pokemon, you can not only fight them, you can also try to catch 'em! I'm going to show you how to catch one, all right? Just keep your eyes on the prize." Professor Kukui then heads into the tall grass slowly and out pops a orange/black bird Pokemon.

(A wild Pikipek appeared! Kukui sends out Rockruff!)

You notice Kukui ordering Rockruff to Tackle this Pikipek, enough so that this Pikipek is tired. "Remember, cousin, you gotta weaken a Pokemon first before you can capture it!" says Kukui to you before tossing a Pokeball at it. Pikipek is sucked into the Pokeball and the ball wiggles for around 3 times before settling.

(Gotcha! Pikipek has been caught!)

"Oh yeah!" says Kukui, feeling a little relieved, "Be careful that these wild Pokemon sometimes attack people if they get close, but catch 'em and they'll join your team and be a great help to you, yeah! But if your Pokemon get all tuckered out by fighting for you, take 'em home for a bit. If you ask your mom, I'm sure she'll you guys rest a bit at home. Or if you don't feel like going home, you could have them use Potions."

"Why don't you have a little adventure of your own on the way to Iki Town, yeah?" says Kukui. He then walks onward, allowing you to spend as much time with the other Pokemon as you please.

(All right, now this is where you are free to catch as much Pokemon and battle as you please, at least in this area. At these kinds of points in the game, this is where I'll either give you the option to wander around in the grass, or to continue on with the story. I'll try to incorporate both parts in case you feel like wandering around or just blaze through the story.)
