The app appeared on Davis Becker's phone. Davis was your prototypical average student. He had a B average, played JV baseball before realizing he would not make varsity his junior year, so he quit. He was in the chess club, astronomy club, and gaming club. He had been on one date, and it did not go well. His muddled through his senior year. He would not miss high school much and could not wait until college.

The school day ended, and Davis was heading for his car. His phone buzzed and the app was blinking. He opened it.

Target Ms. Megan Harkness.

A photo of his physics teacher in her recently renovated classroom appeared on his phone.

"Hmmm," Davis went to Ms. Harkness's classroom and saw her erasing her whiteboard. She was dressed like she was in the photo.

Davis aimed his phone camera at her and hit the reticle.

Ms. Harkness froze.
