"What's going on?" you ask, feeling the pressure building in your head.

The smile evaporates from Mark's face. "What do you mean, 'What's going on?'"

"I mean what are you doing fucking around with Cameron. What the hell else would I mean?"

"Well," Mark says, pausing and walking out of his doorway into the main room, "I don't see what any of that has to do with you,"

"She's dating someone, and not just dating they're practically engaged!"

"Not anymore! They're done! Jake cheated on Cameron."

You're stunned for a moment, that's not something you expected to hear, though it doesn't really change your mood.

"Regardless, that doesn't make it okay to just pounce on her the second she's **** like that."

"Oh like you wouldn't-"

"You're fucking right I wouldn't. You know we're close-"

"Close. Ha! You haven't talked in months. Now she's free and you're all pissed off because someone got there before you."

"Fuck off Mark. I didn't even know anything happened when we first started arguing. I'm pissed because you're fucking a good friend of mine in an emotionally **** position."

"Yeah, right," he says dismissively as he walks back inside his bedroom, leaving the door open.
