"Oh!" Angie exclaimed suddenly, making Jessica look over at her sharply. A wide grin spread across the girl's face.
"What?" Jessica asked eagerly, then laughing as another truck honked at them.
"Pull off at the next exit. I've got a great idea! It might be a bit mean, though..." she said hesitantly.
"Does anyone lose a limb?" Jessica asked with a wink.
Angie laughed. "Nope. There's a strip mall not far from here. I want to get some supplies for a little joke on dear Mandy."
Jade's ears perked up at the words and Jessica traded eager grins with her best friend before swerving towards the exit lane.
It was a matter of minutes before the girls made their way through the busy traffic into the run-down strip mall. Jessica opted to park beside a large delivery van beside the lane that led behind the stores to the delivery bays.
"The car should be alright here," Jessica said as they got out, feeling worried about leaving her dad's old convertible unattended - unless you counted the out-cold body of Amanda, that is.
"It'll be fine. The truck hides it from the parking lot," Angie assured her, and the three walked away to shop for their little prank.
Jessica might have been more **** to leave if she'd noticed the gateway in the chain link fence next to the car, or that down the delivery lane was a pedestrian walkway between some buildings.
