From that day forward, you pushed yourself to be a bit better from day to day. Your healing process was slow, but it was progressing. There were things helping you out, such as your friends being there for you and never afraid to drop everything and come help you out. However, there was one advantage that you had not expected.

Kyra had become much, MUCH closer to you than you were expecting. This didn't mean you two were sneaking off to go behind the bleachers like school children first discovering what it meant to be close to someone of the opposite sex, but it did mean you two spent a lot more time together as just the two of you. Sometimes it would be video gaming together, sometimes writing sessions that she would help you on, sometimes going to seedy bars with her on the back of her bike, sometimes it would be as simple as just spending hours together laughing and talking.

If there were days that you just couldn't deal with anyone, she would understand and usher everyone away from you. She trusted you enough to not try to pull a big mistake, and thus when you were ready for people you would always call on her first. In addition, she started to trust in you more. You learned about her issues with her father, having left Kyra and her family when Kyra was still quite young. Since then, Kyra and her sister both found dear old dad and made peace with the fact he never wanted them. However, there were days that she would still cry over the fact that the first man in her life hated her. Plus she always was bit more violent on father's day because of him.

She was worried about her sister a lot. Kyra considered herself a rebel against society, but if Kyra was a rebel, Kyra's sister could be considered an anarchist. On more than one occasion her sister (Who you learned had the name of Alice) spent the night at Kyra's place because of some mistake she did. Sometimes it was screwing the wrong guy, doing some ****, or even having the police looking for her. Kyra loved how she expressed herself, but was worried that one day she would become like Alice and slip down a slippery slope of rebellion she would never get out of.

Oh, and there was one more thing you learned. Something that threw a wrench in the whole "Asking Kyra out" plan.
