What's next?
An unpleasant surprise
Lara came to as she was rolled over onto her back, her upper body being propped up on her backpack. She had no idea of how long she’d been out, but there was still daylight and she felt numb and cold from the drops of icy water which still clung to her skin, despite the immense heat and the sunrays making it through the dense jungle foliage. Her whole body ached like it had been worked over with a sledgehammer, and her head felt heavy as she seemed bound to slip right back into unconsciousness. Fighting the urge to close her eyes again, Lara tried to focus her gaze, and found that she was looking straight at a figure sitting on one knee right next to her. Dressed in camouflage gear, complete with a boonie hat on his head and streaks of green, black and brown paint across his face, breaking up every line of it, the man had his lips formed into a thin smile as he observed Lara with his clear blue eyes. Resting over his left thigh, Lara could see, was the staff of Xzolotecl, around which his left hand was wrapped.
The man was also armed, with a pistol holstered on his chest and a rifle slung over his shoulder. Whoever he was, Lara didn’t think that he was going to offer her any help.
Dazed though she was, Lara had the thought run through her head that it’d be a bloody shame to die like this, murdered by some dressed-up thief in the middle of some godforsaken jungle while unable to defend herself.
But then the man turned his head to his right, his eyes narrowing and his jaw clinched as though he’d just heard something, and quickly got back up on his feet. After tipping his hat at Lara and offering her another wry smile, he took off, moving silently out of her field of vision. Ignoring how stiff her neck felt, Lara turned her head and watched the man hurry through the clearing in which she’d eventually ended up and disappear off into the underground. It was only after the stranger had been swallowed up by the jungle that the thought struck Lara that she might have tried pulling one of her pistols to stop him from getting away with the staff.
A faint groan slipped past Lara’s lips as she lost consciousness again.
The next time that Lara opened her eyes to re-enter the world of the conscious for a short time, she saw up above her how the trees were moving. It took her a few seconds to realise that it wasn’t they that were moving, but she. She felt several strong hands holding onto her as she was carried, hoisted up into the air, and the weight of her backpack was longer present on her back.
Lara still felt battered and cold, despite the stifling heat, and duly closed her eyes again.
When Lara opened her eyes again after an unknown period of time had gone by, it wasn’t due to any outside factor, but because she’d finally recovered enough from nearly drowning and being tossed down the side of a steep hill to regain consciousness. Lara still felt slightly sore, particularly her shoulder, but her mind was quickly clearing up as she took in her new surroundings. Lara was lying on a pair of blankets in the corner of a small hut, made from wood and mud, with another blanket for a door and several open windows. Judging from the character of the light that was pouring into the one-room building, it was probably early morning.
Scrutinizing her own appearance, Lara found that she was now completely naked, her boots and her panties having been removed by whoever found her and brought her to the hut. The skin of her left shoulder and arm were equipped with a dull lustre, which was also present on her stomach and her thighs and knees. As she rolled over onto her right side and ran her fingers over her upper arm while looking closer at it, Lara guessed that it had been treated with some sort of ointment. Whatever it was, it seemed to have helped, since there was barely any bruising apparent on her shoulder.
Satisfied that she was already on the mend and not suffering any serious injuries from what had happened to her as she’d been about to exit the temple, Lara scanned the hut and found that it was sparsely furnished, which wasn’t exactly surprising, but that her own equipment was piled on the floor a few feet away from her, where her boots were now standing next to her backpack. Moving closer to it, and feeling relieved that she was able to get on her feet and walk without any difficulties or even any real discomfort, Lara squatted down by her backpack and opened it, while noting that her panties were slung over the lower edge of one of the windows, where they’d apparently been left to dry. Her holster and her guns were missing, along with her knife, but the rest of what she’d brought with her to the temple seemed to still be there, even if her PDA was completely smashed and lifeless.
“I wonder if it was the fall or the water that killed it,” Lara said in a low voice as she placed the destroyed piece of electronics down next to her on the floor and continued to rifle through her backpack. As she’d suspected, nothing was missing, but everything electronic was broken, most likely beyond repair. And as for weapons, the closest thing that she still possessed was her razor.
Contemplating whether or not she should get dressed straight away, Lara finally chose to remain naked for now, judging it a more pressing matter to find out where exactly she was. To that end, she crawled up to the nearest window and peeked out of it, being careful not to expose herself.
What Lara saw was that she’d ended up in a small native village located around the edges of a jungle clearing that served as the centre of the village. None of the huts that circled the clearing looked like they were much bigger than the one she was in, and all of them looked like they could have been built in exactly the same manner in the stone-age.
The first thing that Lara noticed about the village was that it looked to be almost completely devoid of people. The second thing that she noticed was that it wasn’t quite abandoned.
Sitting on a log in the middle of the clearing, about fifteen metres away from Lara, was a man. Judging from his copper-coloured skin as well as his facial features, as well as Lara could make them out at that distance, the man was one of the native Indians of the area. But even while sitting down, it was clear that he was far taller than the average Indian who lived deep in the jungles of South America, probably a bit over six feet tall. He was also far, far more muscular, with thick arms and legs and an immense chest over a powerful-looking stomach.
The man apparently wasn’t modest about his body, since he was currently completely naked, and when Lara’s gaze darted down between his legs, she drew a sharp breath at the long, thick shape of his cock hanging down in front of a beefy-looking pair of balls.
Lara tried to focus on what the man was doing, which was manufacturing a bow. But him stretching and bending the wood made his body rock gently on top of the log, and Lara’s gaze soon drifted back to how this was making his member shake ever so softly.
Feeling her cheeks start to grow warmer, Lara again looked away, this time moving her eyes away from the man completely to scan the village once more.
