Chapter 32
by carnivorous cow
The next morning...
An unexciting trip to the Mall.
The next morning Druuna counted her caps and came up with a hundred and ninety-seven total bottle caps. It wouldn’t last her long, so Druuna knew she’d have to find something good on this trip if she really wanted to be able to live off of the work. After getting a drink from the shallow pond Druuna packed up her sleeping bag and moved out.
The next couple of days of walking were uneventful. Before bed and in the morning of each day, Druuna practiced with the club she had gotten from the bandits she had killed. Near sunset of the third day, Druuna spied what she had come all the way through the dark forest to find; the great market known as “the Oakwood Mall”. Outside the entrance to the mall was a small three room lookout tower with the crest of the Finders Guild emblazoned on its flag.
Druuna, thankful to see a friendly face after so many days, approached the on duty guard and smiled at him, saying “Hello there sir. My name is Druuna, I’m a recent member of the guild.”
The guard, noticeably aroused by the site of Druuna’s sexy tanned body, grinned and replied “Are you now? Well it’s a pleasure to meet you if that’s true. You do have your Finders Guild badge, don’t you?”
Druuna noticed the mans attention as well as the hard bulge in this pants and smiled at him. She pulled her brown leather badge out of her pocket and handed it to him.
The guard studied the badge for awhile and then nodded and handed it back to Druuna “Yep, this all looks in order. You can go in if you want, but I wouldn’t suggest doing that right now. It’s almost night and you wouldn’t be able to see where you’re going. Best to start early in the morning. My names Samuel Smith, but you can call me Sam.”
Druuna nodded and said “Nice to meet you Sam, my name‘s Druuna. You‘re probably right about waiting until morning to start exploring the marketplace” she sighed and said “Another night in a cheap sleeping bag.”
The guard smiled and replied “You don’t have to sleep outside. The guard tower has a bedroom you can use if you want.”
Druuna looked at the guard fully for the first time. He was a tall, well-muscled man with bluish-grey eyes, dark hair and no real facial hair outside of some medium sideburns. He seemed pretty nice to Druuna and it had been awhile. He seemed like he’d be open to such a thing from the look of the steel beam he had in his pants.
Should Druuna take up Samuel's offer?
