An older woman

You turn to see an older woman giving Vanessa a quick hug.

"Look at you, so pretty. And such a great new addition to the sorority," the woman gushes as she steps back from Vanessa and holds her hands, looking at her. She's a brunette about your age, dressed in a fashionable pant suit and heels. She carries a few extra pounds but they're nicely distributed on a curvy frame. She casts a glance your way, and you get the distinct feeling of being appraised.

"Aren't you going to introduce me?" she asks Vanessa

"I'm sorry Ms. Huston. This is John, my date. This is Ms. Huston, she's the house mother for the sorority." The woman offers you her hand and an arch look.

"Your date? My Vanessa you certainly took the instruction to bring an older date to the party seriously, didn't you? I'm Barbara, pleased to meet you John. I suppose I should be shocked at you robbing the cradle in such an obvious way, but Vanessa is a headstrong young woman, and does tend to take things to extremes. How long have you known each other?"

"A little while," Vanessa answers before you can speak. "John was ever so kind to agree to escort me tonight."

"Very kind, I'm sure," Barbara says, still not letting go of your hand. "Are you a friend of the family, John."

"Something like that," you answer, giving her hand a squeeze before retrieving your hand. She cocks her head in a questioning look, clearly sensing that there is more unsaid, but seemingly willing to let it drop.

"Well, you two have fun. I know I can trust you to keep Vanessa out of mischief tonight John. Unfortunately, some of her sorority sisters don't have a mature companion to take care of them. I must run," she says hugging Vanessa and smiling at you again.
