An old flame.

Danielle brow furrowed and she eyed the letter warily. It was from Thomas, the last boyfriend she'd had before marrying her husband. He'd been an alright boyfriend, thoughtful and smart, but possessive and more than a little jealous. The breakup hadn't gone well and she hadn't expected (or wanted) to ever hear from him again. There wasn't much to the letter, just a couple lines about how he "thought of her when he saw it," whatever "it" was. She set the card on the counter and examined the box.

It was beautifully wrapped with an ornate bow but otherwise unremarkable. Just a medium sized rectangular box. Giving it a shake, she decided it was probably clothing of some kind.
