Hero Internships begin!
An impressive mentor and disaster strikes!
The remainder of the week passed quickly. Jiro was, seemingly, not ready to discuss what had happened, but neither did either her or Momo cause any new issues. Deku could tell they were enjoying themselves though, as both were regularly utilizing her quirk...
A fact that led to several relief sessions with Tsuyu and Ochaco, and even one with Toru.
During that week, she also experimented with her new abilities, combining quirks had some strange results. She found that she always retained her hermaphroditic body when suppressing her quirk, but not the **** proportions, the pheremones, or the supercharged libido, among other things.
She'd selected her internship easily, in the end. She'd spent too much time looking through each option in detail, at first. Then Ochaco had pointed out she had too many...she needed to narrow the choices with a quick skim, possibly a few rounds of that. But on her first skim through the choices, she'd seen a name on there that made her instantly put it in the short list. She skimmed the rest of the choices to be sure, but in the end, it was an obvious choice, and she eagerly awaited Monday for her internship to actually start.
"Do you know why I picked you, girl?" Her new mentor asked, smirking.
Deku shook her head.
"Did you know I've never taken an intern before?" She followed up.
"I...no. I knew you don't like teams. You say that relying on teams is cowardly. I was surprised you'd take an intern because of that."
The rabbit hero grinned. "You're exactly right. I don't...but I'm not going to be relying on you, and well...you're still learning. I can give you a pass on that one. The reason I picked you though, for my first intern, is that final fight."
"But...I lost?" Deku was puzzled.
"You told that brat off, talked him into doing his best, even though it wasn't in your best interest, because it was the right thing to do. Because you knew he'd be a better hero because of it. I respect that."
Deku smiled.
Her training was intense, that first morning. Miruko wanted to see what she could do, without knowing the specifics, and Deku was happy to show her a selection of her abilties. She was less happy after she'd been trounced, and asked to explain her quirk.
She was expecting various possible reactions. One that didn't cross her mind was that Miruko would start laughing heavily. "So, yeah, not a very typically heroic quirk. That doesn't matter, it's how you use it that does. You're hardly the first hero with a seductive quirk. Maybe the first with something that versatile though. And you can make others stronger..." She smirked. "Shit...with that quirk maybe a team is right for you..." She looked thoughful. "But anyway...have you been holding back then? If your quirk is that weak I hardly think you need to worry about accidentally abusing it."
"I...I learned how to suppress most of it last week. I have been most of the time since. Especially around other people."
Miruko scowled. "So, you are holding back. Fine, I get why, that aspect of your quirk...but for now, stop. I want you to hit me with everything you've got. EVERY trick you have. I want to know what you CAN do so I can help you learn what you SHOULD do."
"B-but..."
"I can take care of myself, kid. I know what I'm getting myself into. So either step up or go home."
Deku paused. "F-fine..." She thought through everything she's written in her notebooks. Miruko was a top five hero, so she was pretty well known. Rabbit-like abilities. Senses, jumping, leg strength...Senses, that was the big one...sensitive ears, and a stronger than human nose. She could take advantage of that, surely.
She sighed and released her suppression of her quirk, and felt her cock expand to fill her cup, and her breasts tighten up her costume's top.
"Interesting." Miruko grinned. "And girl...when I say every trick, I mean it. You have my permission to fight dirty against me."
Deku took a deep breath, blushing deeply, and clicked a switch in her gloves, and at the same time shifted into Frog as her second quirk. As the buzzing started against her pussy and cock, she'd be filling her suit's reserves with a supercharged paralytic aphrodisiac, even while she used Frog's mobility to evade Miruko.
"You DO listen..." The rabbit hero glanced down at Deku's crotch. "...Good"
Deku realized with embarrassment she could hear the buzzing.
Deku knew a straightforward fight would fail, from the first half of the day, but she had a few tricks to try.
It took nearly ten minutes of Miruko toying with her before she managed to land a hit, do the face, with her sprayers. And for her trouble, the rabbit girl had simply grabbed her between her thighs and twisted in the air to throw her to the ground, knocking the wind out of her.
But it was progress. Her fluids were definitely having an effect. Miruko was breathing heavily, for the first time all day.
Deku took advantage of the distraction to clamber back to her feet, switch off her own quirk, and instead turn on Earphone Jack. Her earlobes extended and jabbed the ground, as another click of her gloves caused her suit to seal her ears automatically, and then the quirk filled the room with a loud thumping noise that shook the building itself and had to be hell on Miruko's sensitive ears.
She powered through though, but it was still the closest to stumbling she'd seen the rabbit do yet. She winced, at least.
And then she jumped again, and Deku could see she was going for another leg grab. Even with Frog, she'd never evade it, but...
She moved, just enough to shift Miruko's incoming point of impact, and to slow the impact itself, and that in turn made her hesitate. Not much, but instead of slamming her waist and spinning her around to smash into the ground, The rabbit girl's leotard-clad crotch slammed into Deku's face.
If she was stronger, maybe the outcome would've been different in the end, but...well, even with that part going exactly as planned, she wasn't ready for the strength of her attacker. Miruko held back to avoid breaking the girl's neck, but the shock of the hit lost Deku precious seconds.
They landed uncomfortably by the time Deku got her bearings back enough to enact her plan, her froglike tongue shooting out and worming past the leotard into Miruko's pussy only inches away.
Her earlobes worked their way up to the same area and jabbed into the leotard itself and began producing sound vibrations that would be essentially vibrating directly on the older woman's pussy and clit.
And her hands reached up and around, and, unable to see, she blindly releases her entire reserve of her fluids toward where she thought Miruko's face would be.
Miruko's thighs squeezed slightly, enough to hurt, but not cause real damage, but then she pushed off the ground, rocketing away and landing some distance away, panting heavily.
Deku leapt back to her feet, but winced at a wave of dizziness and a headache.
She started to shift again, this time to Vines and Earphone Jack, and jammed her jacks into two vines that reached out toward Miruko.
But they never reached her. Even in her distracted state, she easily batted them aside and jumped, this time just knocking Deku over and putting a foot on her stomach. "Alright...enough."
Deku was now looking up at Miruko's exposed lower lips, which were dripping wet and puffy.
She idly straightened the leotard but it didn't do much to hide her state.
"Time to talk about how you fucked up." Miruko grinned.
"First though, that with the vibrations was clever, and I'm assuming that's more of what you meant to do with the vines. That's good, think more along those lines, but it'll work better if you restrain the target first." Miruko's expression darkened. "But most of the rest of that...was crap. You pull that on a villain you're likely to end up dead eventually."
Deku wanted to interrupt, but restrained herself.
"You're relying too much on this being 'safe'. If I was a villain, I could have just straight up killed you when you moved your head. And even besides that, your tactic with the spray...I can tell it was starting to slow me down, but in the meantime you trying to get me worked up is a terrible tactic too. You're biased by your fights so far being mostly against fundamentally good people. It may distract the villain...or it may drive them to finish you off and then go do even worse than they originally meant to. If you can reproduce whatever toxin is slowing me down by itself, do that. Use your abilities to disable the target, get control of the situation. Then take them out of the fight. Trying to make them lose control instead makes them unpredictable and they will end up hurting you or someone else eventually."
She smirked. "Any questions?"
The next day was very different. They'd rounded out the previous day with several more rounds of sparring, but eventually called it a day and she'd been instructed to rest up for today, when she'd be going out on the streets. In Miruko's words, she was "already too used to fighting safe targets."
Miruko instructed her to not try to finish off anyone herself. They didn't need to trouble of an unlicensed intern who could permanently revoke quirks.
It was, for the most part, an uneventful day, at first. They had no serious fights, nothing dangerous.
Until Miruko got a message about an ongoing major incident in Hosu, requesting nearby heroes to the area. Deku felt a sudden chill.
"We're not close. Things will have wrapped up before we're halfway there." Miruko explained.
"I understand that, but...It's just...one of my classmates is interning there. I'm worried about them." Deku countered.
"If your friend is interning, they probably won't be involved in this. And if they are...you won't change anything by showing up two hours from now in a panic."
"I know...I know that. I was just...worried."
Deku tried to push it from her mind and focus on her intern work.
That became impossible though, when her pshone buzzed some time later, with a group message...from Todoroki.
All it contained was two things. First, a location: a street name and short description. And then one word..."Iida"
The location was in Hosu.
It took hours, well into the night, before all the pieces were finally put together. Miruko had readily agreed with her that the situation was worthy of concern, and forwarded the message to other pros. None of that concern changed the situation that they were hours away, though, and neither could help directly.
Fortunately there were already pros responding to the situation who could investigate.
Over the next few hours, information filtered in a little at a time. Some from the news. Some from Miruko, and some from Todoroki, later on. Enough that Deku had rushed to Hosu to visit them in the hospital as soon as Miruko had allowed her.
Hosu had been attacked, by several creatures similar to Nomu from the USJ incident. Pros had scrambled to take care of them, but there was a higher than normal presence due to investigation of the Hero Killer, so they were taken care of before causing much more than property damage, largely by Endeavor.
Todoroki had been with his father, and during the fighting, encountered Manual, and discovered Iida was missing. He'd put the pieces together from there, and decided Endeavor and the pros had this situation handled, and gone looking for Iida.
He'd found him...that was when he'd sent that first message, including to Endeavor, before he'd leapt in and stopped the Hero Killer...at least briefly.
He'd hurt Iida, badly. Was likely to finish the job, if Todoroki hadn't stepped in, but Todoroki had been countered almost immediately. Paralyzed by the villain's strange quirk. Luckily Stain had been content to waste time talking before finishing them off, and more help had arrived soon after. Todoroki was injured, but not too badly, mainly just blood loss.
Another student had arrived first, but not one of their class. Someone Deku knew by reputation at UI, an older student who already had their provisional license, name Mirio Togata. Close behind him had been a pro hero Deku had recognized on the news as All Might's former sidekick, Sir Nighteye.
The Hero Killer Stain was taken into captivity, and Todoroki, Iida, and Native rushed to the nearest hospital...
They wouldn't let Deku in to see Iida, who was in surgery...he'd been in bad shape by the time Todoroki arrived. But Todoroki was conscious and stable, and it was from him that Deku heard most of the story.
Because Mirio and Nighteye were both licensed, they were the public face of the capture. Iida and Todoroki were just more targets, as far as the news was concerned, in exchange for leniency on them breaking the laws regarding unlicensed hero work. Even that, Deku suspected, was because Iida's interference had managed to save Native's life.
But Iida...he was in surgery for a while, and even when he was eventually taken to a room, Deku wasn't allowed to see him. Deku was eventually ushered out. Visiting hours were over, and she wasn't family, so she couldn't object, but she did ask Todoroki to let her know if he heard anything about Iida's condition.
The next day seemed to drag on. Everyone's spirits were low in class, with two students missing. They'd heard enough to be worried about Iida, and apparently the doctors wouldn't tell Todoroki anything yet.
Todoroki texted the class that he'd been released, and Iida was awake and stable.
Deku made her way to the hospital after classes, and was directed to Iida's room.
Iida was sitting up, looking somber. He was heavily bandaged and hooked to several different tubes and ivs. "Hey, Midoriya. Todoroki told everyone I was awake, I guess?"
"Hey...yeah. How are you feeling? We've all been worried. Classes were weird today."
"I..." Iida seemed to be struggling to bring himself to say something. "I'm not...coming back to class, Midoriya."
"Well I wasn't expecting you t..."
"At all. I don't mean tommorow. Or this week. I'm not coming back."
"What?" Deku froze.
"I...when I went after the Hero Killer...it was for the wrong reasons. I was trying to avenge my brother...not help people. The Hero Killer, he judged me, for my vengeance, and declared me unworthy. And he was right. I didn't even try to save Native. I just wanted ****. And I paid the price for it..."
"Iida...That doesn't mean..."
"You don't understand, Midoriya. It does. I will never be a hero, now."
"You..."
"MIDORIYA!" Iida snapped. He reached down with his non-sling-bound arm, and threw his blankets aside.
Deku couldn't fully stifle a gasp at the sight of Iida's right leg. What was left of it. Bandages and then...nothing, starting at 6 inches below the knee.
A/N: Commentary is welcome but for what it's worth, I do have a plan for Iida. This isn't me writing him out, or even reducing his role. You'll see soon.
What does Deku do?
