Chapter 2 by Ash117 Ash117

Observation

An hour later

Jane couldn't help but wince as she watched the creature. It looked like something out of a bad dream. The whole thing didn't seem real. Her students were clearly uncomfortable as they took pictures, made notes, and recorded it. No real progress was being made. Everyone was too busy staring in disgust, hypnotized by the creatures very existence.

Jane took a look at her watch: an hour had passed. It felt like five minutes ago they had just set up. They hadn't accomplished much other than taking a few pictures and a video. Jane sat down and tied her long auburn hair up into a ponytail. She could tell they would be here forever. There was so many questions she had about this creature. She was determined to figure out all she could about this thing. It could very easily make her famous. She could become the leading expert on it right here, right now. Jane turned to grab her notepad, she wanted to review what she had noted earlier. She also wanted to see if its behavior or appearance matched any other known creature. It kind of reminded her of --

"Ms. White," a student whispered.

Jane looked up and saw that the creature had stopped pacing back and forth. It was now looking through the glass. It was now _looking at her. _Jane froze. It was as if it could see her through the one-way mirror. Suddenly a low, commanding voice filled her ears.

"Do not be afraid. Listen to me..."

Jane's heart began to race. She whirled around to see if the other students were hearing what she was hearing, but they all stood silently. She opened her mouth to speak --

"No. They will not listen to you. Hear me. Listen to my voice."

Down the hall
