An amulet

She held out a green jewel that was small enough to loose. It sparkled brightly in the afternoon sunlight, an almost mystical quality to it that made it seem important at first glance.

"What is it?" I asked.

"An amulet," she said. "It does some cool things."

"Like what?"

"Watch," she said, slipping it into her pocket. "You're wearing red lipstick."

"What?" I asked. "No I'm not!"

"Look in the mirror," she said.

I pulled out my phone and turned it to selfie mode. I was shocked to see my lips painted with bright red lipstick. I licked then and it tasted like cherry.

"How did you do that?" I asked.

"The amulet," she said.

"Do something else," I said. "Something bigger."

"Okay... there's a cabin right over there."

I blinked, but my eyes were not deceiving me. A cabin had just appeared by the side of the lake.

"Woah," I said. I stood there in disbelief.

"Pretty neat, isn't it?" she asked.

I nodded, almost in a trance.

"There's something I've been waiting to tell you, and now I feel safe doing it," she said.
