Chapter 5 by augy6666

What kind of dwelling?

An abandoned island resort

Mei and two other girls look at Madison and I. They can see the tension is intense. You remember her name as Sarah, she sat next to me and yesterday just ignored me but attitude has totally changed. She makes a innocent comment, "I wish we we were paired together strong man, protect little women like myself."

It was not the comment, they way she looked at me. With her cloths torn, can see she had curvy figure and other girl was Asian with slim figure, she introduced herself as Lin, she had cup size smaller than the brunette. She says, "We found some abandoned buildings we should check out."

They move away from the waterfall to the steamy forest. As the group pushed further inland, it was Sarah, the architect, who spotted them first—a sprawling collection of weathered bungalows and a central plaza that had clearly been a resort in a former life.

"I found something," she called out, her voice professional yet hushed. "It looks abandoned, but it’s still standing."

As they moved through the perimeter, the mood shifted. Scattered across the area were rows of overgrown, weathered graves—far too many for an island of this size. They are in chineese text, Lin looks at them. She says the names seem have classical names and mostly female. While the others scouted the central plaza, Sarah and Lin, the geologist, moved toward the nearest bungalow. They pushed the rotting door open, and the sight inside stopped them cold: the skeletal remains of a woman, curled up as if in her final moments, clearly having perished decades ago.

Taped to the wall above her was a handwritten note, the ink brittle and faded:

'The island hungers for the man. It turns the women into vessels of need, stripping away our minds until we are nothing but shadows of desire. Stay away from the research center at all cost. If you find this, it is already too late.'

Lin went pale as she read the warning aloud. Madison, who had been lagging behind, suddenly stepped forward, her eyes wide and unfocused. She stared at the skeleton, then turned her gaze sharply toward the protagonist. Her eyes were flickering with a manic, predatory intensity that made the air feel thin.

She pressed a finger to her lips, her voice barely a whisper. "Quiet," she commanded, her gaze pinning him to the spot. "You will stay quiet about this. You don't know what you're seeing."

The atmosphere in the room grew suffocating. Madison’s sanity was clearly fraying, and the warning on the wall seemed to be a mirror of the woman she was becoming. Just then, Lin turned to the group. "I’m going back to the beach to bring the rest of them here," she announced, oblivious to the dread in the bungalow. "We need to start exploring this resort if we’re going to survive."

She left with Mei, the remaining women stood in the bungalow, the silence broken only by the settling of the rotting wood and the heavy, unhinged breathing of their leader. It was about hour later and decide search the resort in teams of three.

Which team are you on
