After the destruction of Daibazaal and the **** of their emperor, Zarkon, the Galran race was left homeless and leaderless. They saw little hope for a future, doomed to be scattered across the cosmos to fade away into obscurity. That is until their fallen emperor stood up from his casket, and declared that the Alteans were responsible for their home planets destruction. He asked them to rally to his side in a war against the Alteans and to rally to his side. With nowhere else to turn, the majority of them did. Despite the Alteans superior technology, they were still just a race of diplomats, no match for the mighty Galran warriors. By the time King Alfor was able to fill the hole left by Zarkon in the paladins, he had already captured another, Trigel, alongside Allura's mother Melenor, who had been visiting the green paladin. From there, it only took a single phoeb for the Alteans to be defeated, with Zarkon himself bearing down on the Castle of Lions to announce his victory over Altea. In a last ditch effort, Alfor put his daughter Allura and two servants, named Coran and Romelle respectively, into stasis and launched them alongside the Castle of Lions into space with the hope that they could escape.
