Alexa is out shopping

Alexa grumbled as they were just beginning her senior year and she needed new clothes and supplies for the year. Her mom was with her while Faith was at a summer camp.

“We need to replace your wardrobe this year,” Helen said. “Let’s get shopping while we can take advantage of the back to school sales.”

They were in a Target and Alexa pushed the cart around heading towards the women’s department. Helen stopped as she saw the girl’s sign and a huge 50% off or more clearance section. “Alexa, wait,” she said. “Let’s go over here. I want to see if we can find clothes that fit you still.”

“W-what? But those are for little girls. I’m a woman now,” Alexa said.

“I’m the one paying so you’ll humor me unless you want to go to school naked,” Helen said.

Alexa blushed as they approached the girl’s section. First was the bin of underwear packages.

Helen examined the packages and found ones that were Alexa’s size. She checked the prices the plain cotton briefs were $5 for a 4 pack. But there was a cartoon pack marked down for $3 for a 12 pack. It had Scooby Doo, My Little Pony, Care Bears, Hello Kitty, Spongebob, Dora the Explorer, and Paw Patrol undies in it.

Helen added it to the cart and Alexa protested. “Come on, mom. Those are for little kids. Can’t we get the plain ones?”

“No, these are cheaper and a much better offer,” Helen said. “No one will see your underwear anyways.”

Helen led Alexa along to the other clothes she tossed in a bunch of skirts and shirts all Alexa’s size.

She found a few shorts and put those in and a couple pairs of pants.

They were all juvenile. Alexa squirmed as she saw the childish apparel in the cart. She couldn’t enter senior year with such embarrassing clothes. She had to do something.
