Alexa cries

As the door shut behind them, Alexa burst into tears. Courtney sighed and pulled Alexa into a hug, cradling her as she brought her over to one of the chairs and sat her down on her lap. “God, what have I done!” Alexa sobbed. “Everyone knows! Everyone saw! And n-now I’m officially a b-baby! Under your care. Me a 22 year old woman. Under the care of someone because I can’t keep my pants dry.”

Courtney rubbed Alexa’s back and held her tightly. “You sure have done it now, Lexi,” Courtney said. “You could have been expelled. You could have done a lot of damage to your future. But I’m going to help you. I promise.”

“You shouldn’t h-have to,” Alexa sobbed, burying her head in Courtney’s shoulder. “W-why! Why does it have to be like this! All I’ve ever wanted is to j-just s-s-stop and g-g-grow up! And i-it j-j-just gets worse! I’m a stupid baby! I’m a diaper wetting, pants wetting, bed wetting baby!”

“Lexi, please,” Courtney said. “These things happen. Not everyone is built the same way. But we’ll get through this together. Oh sweetie, it’s going to be okay. I’m going to help you. We’ll make sure that you can get through all of this.”

“B-but I have to wear d-d-diapers,” Alexa sobbed.

“Yes, you do,” Courtney said. “There’s no beating around it, but maybe this’ll be a good thing. You can just relax and not have to worry about the potty, and you can focus on your school work, and I can help you with it all.”

“I-I’m a f-f-reak,” Alexa cried. “And e-everyone knows it.”

“You’re not a freak,” Courtney said. “You’re just different is all.”

Suddenly both of their phones went off. Courtney looked at it, and her eyes laid on the series of notifications. There was a video of Alexa running around campus in a wet diaper. The caption read “Campus Baby” “Alexa the Diapered Toddler” “Alexa the Toddler” “Alexa the Baby”. There were various versions being spread across social media. Alexa sobbed as she saw the phone. “My life is over,” Alexa said.

“No it’s not,” Courtney said. “Come on, Lexi. It’s going to be okay.”

Alexa was about to say something when her phone started ringing. She looked to see her mom calling her. Her lip quivered, eyes watered even more. “It’s over,” she whispered as she buried her face in Courtney’s shoulder. Courtney wrapped her arms around Alexa.

She kind of felt sorry for Alexa. Half of her found the situation amusing, but the other half made her genuinely care for Alexa as she clung to her like a... well like a baby.
