Chapter 4 by Streaklover
Which person is wearing the gauntlet?
Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
Small heads up before the chapter starts. Due to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, my mind has swapped the default Infinity Stone colors with those of the MCU, so in order to avoid confusion on my part, I'm using those colors. Thank you and enjoy!
Ahsoka Tano, Jedi Padawan, was on a mission with her master, the Chosen One Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight. Rumors had it that there was a Separatist base on Planet 0259-S, a small planet that's both so insignificant and so far away from safe Hyperspace routes that it didn't even have a proper name. The only thing that made it even mildly interesting was some ruin of unknown non-native lifeforms, who are thought to have come from the Unknown Regions.
The mission of Ahsoka and Anakin was to see if there really was a Separatist base on the planet, and capture it if there is. Careful scanning of the planet has shown that the only artificial structure on the planet was still the ruin, and no power source has been detected. Granted, the Separatists could use some cloaking technology to hide it, but the scans were designed to look for anything artificial in nature. That meant that they could still pick up on signs, such as strangely shaped caves, which would make any cloaking technology useless.
Still, they had to be certain, so the duo landed near the ruin with the 501st to scout it out. While the section of the ruins above ground was small enough to need only one person to scout out, the underground section needed dozens of people, and even then it would take days to look everywhere.
Ahsoka was admiring the artwork depicting the strange gems as she and her master were walking past them. She saw artwork of a purple gem releasing enough energy to destroy planets, artwork of a yellow gem controlling the minds of various humanoid slaves, artwork of an orange gem shaping life, artwork of a blue gem creating portals, artwork of a green gem aging humanoids to dust, artwork of a red gem reshaping the world around it, and finally artwork of a gauntlet with all gems in it, creating and destroying entire galaxies. Yes, it is safe to say that Ahsoka was admiring the artwork.
Perhaps a little to much, as she stepped on a tile that sunk into the ground, and opened up a trapdoor that closed as soon as she fell through. She could hear a quick "Sni-!" before the trapdoor shut. Sliding through the tunnels, it quickly became apparent that they split into multiple paths. Trusting the Force, Ahsoka did her best to follow the path that it seemed to guide her through. She lost count how many times the path split, and she was just glad she didn't end up getting sliced in half by the splits.
Eventually, Ahsoka reached the end of one of the paths. She got dropped from the ceiling, and she saw that the opening closed the moment she got through. After she landed, she looked around and saw that the room had no other method of getting in or out aside from the trapdoor. More disturbingly, she saw several skeletons. Most seemed to be from the humanoid species that build this place, and most of their bones seemed to have bite marks on them. Other skeletons seemed to be from other species, mostly human. Those skeletons seemed to claw at the walls. 'They must've starved to death, and the humanoids must've resorted to cannibalism to survive. The others didn't seem... lucky enough, for a lack of better wording, to have anyone with them.' With that thought, Ahsoka briefly feared that she was going to end up like all those poor people before her. 'Like Sithspit I am!'
Feeling through the Force, Ahsoka started going to one particular part of the walls, ignited her lightsaber and started carving out the wall. After a few minutes, enough of a hole was made for her to get through. Getting to the other side, she saw that she came into what looked like a treasure room. And in the very back of it, there was a shrine with a golden gauntlet on it. The same gauntlet from the murals, with all six gems in it.
Somehow, the Togruta felt drawn by it. Grabbing it, she saw that it was much too large for her, obviously being made for a creature with much bigger arms than a teenage humanoid girl. However, she still put in on, and felt enormous power rush through her. She wondered what this thing could do, and the moment that thought entered her mind, the yellow gem lit up and she instantly knew what this thing was.
This thing was the Infinity Gauntlet, an artifact so powerful that it would make the Ones look like newborn Loth-kittens compared to it. While the Gauntlet itself was a glorified glove, the gems within, known as Infinity Stones, held the power to reshape the Universe.
The yellow one that she just used, the Mind Stone, had the power to grant her limitless knowledge while also granting all manner of psychic abilities.
The orange stone, the Soul Stone, had power over the souls of any creature in the Universe, and had the power to control life itself. It also had the power to control the Force, as it was an extension of life.
The purple gem, the Power Stone, would grant her immense strength and control over all forms of energy, while also being able to generate limitless amounts of energy without sacrificing anything in return.
The blue gem, the Space Stone, could alter the fabric of space in any conceivable and inconceivable way. Teleportation, portal creation, and even allowing her to be at multiple places at the same time.
The green gem, the Time Stone, could alter time in may different ways. Speeding up or slowing time down, stopping time, reversing time, aging anything, de-aging anything, stopping things from aging, visions of the past and future, and simple time travel.
And then there was the red gem, the Reality Stone. The most powerful Infinity Stone of them all. It could take any wish and make it true by altering the very fabric of reality, allowing anything to happen even if it would violate the laws of physics.
With this kind of power, Ahsoka could do anything she wanted. The Gauntlet itself though was not something that she could use properly, and she wanted something that was much more easy to manage. Granting her wish, the Reality Stone lit up and reshaped the Infinity Gauntlet into an amulet, which she could easily fit inside of her pocket.
After that, she used the Mind Stone again to see where Anakin was, and used the Space and Reality Stones to alter the layout of the rooms to make it so that the treasure room and neighboring trap room were put near the room he was in. She then used the Reality Stone once more to create an exact duplicate of the Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity Stones on the altar, though this replica didn't have any power. It was just a golden gauntlet with a few gems in it, nothing more.
"Snips!" Hearing the sound of her masters voice, Ahsoka discreetly pocketed the Infinity Amulet and turned around, only to get caught in a hug from Anakin. "I thought I lost you, what happened?"
Getting herself out of the hug, Ahsoka smiled at the Chosen One's worry. "Not much, really. Fell into a room without a normal way out, but I had my lightsabers. That trap wasn't really made with a Jedi in mind." Her smile faltered a bit. "Other people weren't so lucky though."
Worry stretched across Anakin's face. "Clones?"
Ahsoka shook her head. "No, all the skeletons there had to be a few decades there at least. Maybe centuries or millennia for the oldest ones."
Relief flowed from the Human in waves, obviously glad none of his men died in the same room Ahsoka was in. "Well, we scouted the entire structure when we were searching for you, and it looks like those rumors were false. No Separatists anywhere near this planet."
After that, they gathered up all their troops and went back to Coruscant. Ahsoka still had the Infinity Amulet within her pocket, and hasn't told anyone about it. Question is, what was she going to do with godly powers?
What will Ahsoka do?
