The Great-Niece of the Legendary Peggy Carter Sharon chose to never disclose her surname to most of her compatriots in order to make her own way in the world.

Thankfully the Carter Bloodline seems to breed excellent spies as Sharon was capable of deceiving even the legendary Black Widow in order to maintain her cover as a nurse. Her skills in espionage in turn made her a valued recruit for the CIA while her combat training allowed her to hold her own against the Legendary Winter Soldier, albeit briefly.

Still that won't stop you from abducting the SHIELD Agent.
