After the delivery

It had been a long and arduous process for Rose to give birth to your children. The three of them, Ivy, Connor, and Daisy, born in that order, had given your Rose quite a lot of trouble. Due to complications she'd had to stay in the hospital for two weeks after giving birth. Luckily, she recovered well but it was a long time before she was going to do any jumping jacks. One afternoon she was sitting by the window of her room, nursing Daisy when there was a knock on the door.

"Rose? There's someone here to see you" the nurse said.

"Oh?" you asked, looking at your fiancée, "Are you expecting anybody?"

"No" Rose replied, "but let them in."

"Hey guys" a familiar voice said.

"Claire!" Rose exclaimed, making Ivy gurgle in surprise before she started crying.

"Hey Claire" you said, walking over to hug her. She hugged back and smiled.

"I'm so happy to see you two" she said. She handed you the bouquet of flowers before walking over to Rose and the babies.

"Sssh, darling" Rose said. "Mommy's sorry." She cradled your oldest daughter gently.

"Sorry too" Claire said, sitting down next to your wife. "How have you been?"

"Well, I just gave birth to three babies, so I'm feeling pretty wrecked" Rose said. "Do you want to hold her?"

"Yes, please!" Claire said, "gimme!" Rose laughed softly and gave her your oldest, who stared up at your friend and fellow survivor before gurgling. At that point your son started crying so you walked over to his crib and picked him up.

"What's the matter, buddy?" you asked. "You hungry?" Of course your only son didn't reply, so you gave him to his mother, who began feeding him. The baby boy imemdiately latched on to her nipple, telling you he was indeed hungry. Your youngest child remained quiet, sleeping happily in her crib.

"So how have you been?" Claire asked.

"Very, very busy with our children" you told her. Rose nodded her agreement.

"Yeah, if you thought one was a lot of work, try having three" she said.

"I can imagine. Then again, you had three little babies growing inside of you as well, so I can imagine you're tired" Claire said. With a big smile Rose nodded.

"I am so tired, but it was all worth it. I mean, look at them" she said. "They are all beautiful and healthy."

"You must be very grateful, the both of you" your friend told the two of you.

"For sure" she said.

"Hey, I'm going to get something from the restaurant. Do you guys want anything?" you asked when your stomach growled.

"They'll come by with coffee and tea in a bit" Rose pointed out.

"Sure, but I want something savoury" you said.

"Bring me something too" Claire said. "I'll pay you back."

"You kidding me? You get snacks for free" you said, smiling. "For as long as we live."

"Oh, great idea, baby. She's going to eat us out of hearth and home before our children even turn one year old" Rosie told you.

"I'll behave, I swear" Claire said with a grin, tickling Ivy.

"You better" you said with a smile. "I'm going to get those snacks, so your behaving well starts now." You got up from your seat, gave Rose a kiss on the cheek, then walked out of the room, leaving your son with all these women. The thought of it made you smile.

"There you are" Claire said when you returned. She was holding Daisy now, which you could tell. This had led to some amazement with your family as well as Rose's, who had no idea how you could tell them apart. As parents, both you and Rose could easily tell who was who. It was pretty funny to see others try and guess, though. You gave Claire a Snickers bar which she took gratefully. Just then the cart with coffee and tea showed up, pushed by a nice lady who of course spent tons of attention on your babies before giving you and your coffee while she gave Rose a cup of tea.

"So do you still talk to Cora?" Rose asked.

"Oh, yeah. She's doing really well. She's kept the weight that she lost on the island off, which is obviously great. Her husband was so happy to see her again that they actually reconnected to a degree where their marriage got better" Claire said with a smile.

"She deserves it" you said. "She basically kept us alive."

"Don't sell yourself short, John" Claire said. "You did a lot of work for us, too."

"Yeah, like get me pregnant" Rose said, "leading to us having three babies at once."

"Hey, you wanted me to make love to you" you said.

"So that's why you kept going over to the other island" Claire teased.

"Well, duh" Rose said. She took your hand and squeezed it. "I love this man."

"I know. You've shown him off enough without sharing him" Claire said.

"Speaking of..." Rose said. "Kids, don't listen" she told her babies.

"To what?" you asked, raising a brow.

"Well, I'm going to be out of commission for a while" your girlfriend said.

"Yeah? And?" you asked.

"Well, chances are my sex drive is going to be very, very low" Rose said. "Do you remember what we talked about when we were on the other island?"

"Yeah" you said, catching Rose's drift.

"Claire and I got to talking. I trust few people as much as I do her. Since I know you too well, I know that you will not settle for the occasional handjob or blowjob I can muster" Rose said. "So I asked if she'd be willing to step in."

"And?" you asked.

"So you don't think I'd run away with her?" you asked Rose.

"And her?" you said, indicating Claire.

"Like I said, I trust almost nobody as much as I trust her. We survived on an uninhabited island in the middle of nowhere in no small part thanks to her" Rose said. "The least I can do to pay her back is to let her have her way with you a few times until I'm back in the saddle."

"You are very considerate" you said, grinning stupidly.

"I'm also confident in my lover and my friend" Rose said. "So here's the deal: as soon as I feel up to sex again, you two are over. But until that point, you have my permission to sleep togeher. Claire, it's a good thing you're a Marine, because otherwise I don't think you'd be able to keep up with my future husband."

"I look forward to trying" Claire said with a grin at you.

"You really are the best" you said, leaning in to kiss Rose. She smiled.

"Just don't forget our deal" she told you. "And no getting her pregnant, either. You've got enough kids at home."

"Yes ma'am. Do I need to take notes?" you asked.

"No, my lawyer's drawing up the contract as we speak. Smartass" Rose replied, grinning. "Just accept that I called in a favour from a friend who's happy to help out until I'm on the mend."

"Thank you, darling. You're the best. And so are you, Claire" you told them. "You two really know how to look after a guy."

"Just as long as you remember that this would not have happened if we hadn't been stuck on an island with her" Rose said. "You would've been down to your own hand, mister."

"Alright, alright" you said. "You are the best and as sexy as you are smart."

"Don't call me sexy" Rose replied. "I just birthed three children."

"They are all beautiful, Rose. Like you" you told her.

"Flatterer" she said.

"Well, he's right" Claire added. "They are gorgeous little creatures. Then again, how could they not be? The both of you are very beautiful people."

"Thanks, Claire" Rose replied with a smile.

"Oh, so I'm just flattering you but Claire's being honest?" you asked.

"Yep" she said. "You need to keep me happy if you don't want me to rip your head off. Claire doesn't need to fear that fate."

"So can I stay over at your place tonight?" you asked Claire. The two women laughed and with that conversation returned to your children, who were by now back in their cribs and sleeping peacefully.

At first you were sure you didn't want to sleep with Claire, even if you'd been given the go ahead by Rose. However, about after a month without sex later, that itch returned. With Rose out of the picture, you could just help yourself, but what about Claire? You decided to go ahead and text her. She was quick to reply.

Just as you pulled up to Claire's house you got another message. Thinking it was Rose, you were surprised it came from Claire.

'The door's open. Lock it behind you when you come in and go upstairs' it read.

You got out of your car and followed directions, locking the door behind you before taking your shoes off and heading upstairs. What you saw there was not something you'd expected, even though it was exactly what you'd come for.

"Wow" you said.

"Hello to you too, John" the Marine said, smiling broadly at you. "I expected you much sooner than one month, judging by what Rose told me."

"I didn't really want to" you said, unable to keep your eyes off of the gorgeous brunette's intimate bits.

"It was Rose's idea, baby. Just let it happen. Let me take a load off, huh?" she said, standing up. She reached out and started unbuttoning your shirt. "What's that?" Claire asked as she took your shirt off.
