After lunch...

With Tommy getting practically the whole menu, lunch lasted almost an hour and half. You hadn't expected your friend to actually eat the menu, but by God he did it.

As you walk out to your cars your friend is patting his distended stomach, "Great food in there I tell you."

"Yeah, I can tell you enjoy it, that's for sure. It's already time to go and pick up Courtney. Meet you at the school?"

"Sounds good, bro. See you in a few." He says, and peels off to his pick up, while you walk the rest of the distance to your rental.

You drive to the school, following behind Tommy's pickup, stopping in the same spot you had gotten the day before with Doe. Tommy had parked at the corner and was already walking towards the school as the kids were being let out of class.

You get out of the car, a little nervous for some reason, and walk across the street to the school. Courtney sees you immediately, as Jeremy is already talking to his father. Courtney pats her teacher's hand and the teacher bends down. Courtney whispers something to the teacher and she looks at the child surprised, then look over at you as you step onto the curb. Courtney says something else, and the teacher gets a look of realization. She stands back up and pats the child on her shoulder, obviously the signal to Courtney that she can go.

Courtney smiles at you as she runs up to you, "Hey Mr. John! You come to pickeded me up today, huh?"

You smile gently as you look at the little girl, "Yes I did, and I have a surprise for you as well."

"Oh, what's that?" She asks tilting her head.

"We're going to go the the amusement park for a little while."

Courtney's face brightens considerably, "Oh! YAY! I loves the amuusme ...anusem...oh... the park!"

"Okay then, let's go!" You say as you hold your hand out for the little girl to take. She smiles at you broadly, a child's smile, and takes you hand, gripping it tightly.

You walk her across the street and open the rear door. She climbs in, and attempts to put the seatbelt on, but doesn't have the strength to pull it down. You chuckle, and help the girl, then walk around to the drivers seat getting in, and putting your own seatbelt on.

You notice that Tommy and Jeremy are already at Tommy's pick up, and just getting in as you pull away from the school, on your way to the amusement park.
