Adriana decides to fight, then run for it

Adriana looked at the guard. A young man, and a handsome one at that. More importantly, he looked competent. Even with the friendly smile that Adriana, gave him, he did not seem distracted. Nor too nervous. He had hos hand on his service revolver, but he maintained a clam demeanor.

Adriana Briefly considered fighting him. She could probably knock him out, if she got close enough, but she doubted she could sneak up on him. Still, if she were to be caught, the whole mission would be compromised.

"Anything you say, officer" she said, raising her hands up"

The officer approached her, then took out his hand cuffs. He never had a chance to use them. Adriana waited until he got close enough, then thrust her knee up and connected with his crotch. The guard doubled over in pain.

Adriana grabbed the house keys off the desk and ran toward the door.

"Freeze! Or I will shoot!" yelled the officer, still struggling to get up off the ground.

Adriana did not look back as she ran out of the office. She heard the footsteps behind her

"Freeze! Now!" called out the officer once again.

Then Adrian heard tow shots. Then she felt the pain in her back. Her breath was knocked out. Adriana collapse on the floor, struggling to breathe. The pain was excruciating. Then, Adriana felt nothing at all.
