Adam

Adam did feel a little guilty, having placed all the emphasis on Gogo and not saying a peep about the wild fling which had just occurred out in Marlon's waiting room. In fact, now that he stopped to think about it, perhaps having dangerous sex with a clearly **** woman was not as advisable as simply permitting her to see a mental health professional. Yet Adam felt relieved over all. That busty gal Bibi had surely been just a fluke. It only stood to reason that a lot of time could go by before he would ever have to worry about a temptation like that.

Before he could even get the latest temptation off his mind, however, his original temptation, Gogo herself, neatly intercepted him on the Ubiquitron lobby, and he had to confess to a certain perverse pride at how she turned heads.

"Adam!" she greeted with her standard cheeriness. "I was beginning to get worried. You ran late."

Adam walked and she kept up as they talked. "My psychologist made me wait. By the way, Gogo, I would very much appreciate your making and appointment with him and talking with him tomorrow."

"Me?" She bit her lower lip, concerned. "Adam ... do you think I'm ... "

"No no no, nothing like that. It's just that Dr. Dietz knows things about me that no one else knows the whole story about ... and if you and I are going to get along better -- in our WORKING relationship -- I think he could give you a better idea of me?"

Gogo was impressed. "He knows things about you no one else knows?"

"That's right."

Gogo was almost superstitious about psychologists, but if Adam was trusting her with secrets ... "Adam, I would be honored."

"I'm glad you feel that way. Set it up." Their elevator arrived and they got on, with a couple other employees.

Gogo sighed hard -- she had been hoping to be able to jump Adam -- but she stopped him from hitting the button and hit another one herself. "Adam, the reason I had to come down and meet you like this -- the director could use your help with the commercial."

"My help? I'm no actor."

"Yes, but apparently the original script calls for someone named Carl Wolper."

"That's one reason I like it. Carl Wolper is an internationally respected financial adviser and his offices are just down the street."

"Yes, well, apparently he couldn't make it today, he had to go to the hospital."

"That's a shame. He's a great man. But I have to admit, he's very old ... I'm still not sure how I can help, though. But don't worry, I'll speak with the director. His name is ... Wilhelm Nylands?"

"Helmut Nylands." The doors opened and Gogo got off. "I'll show you to him."

This was all a wrinkle he really did not want, but in spite of that Adam felt good. After a hearty lunch date and a quick romp, he could admire a rear view of Gogo's body waggling very nicely and feel very cool and calm and collected and in command of himself. He dared to smile. He was clearly over the hump of all his worries.

"Mr. Nylands? Mr. Adam Ziktor," Gogo introduced. "I'll be up at my desk if you need me, for anything, Mr. Ziktor," Gogo added, trying to sneak in a final come-on.

"Oh, I'll be sure to be needing you for something, thank you," assured Adam, and took a second to watch her walk away.

"She's a very resourceful woman," said Helmut Nylands. "She was able to find an excellent cast for our Maximus Investments spot. Our only trouble is with the one cast member we thought we had for sure, Mr. Wolper."

"Yes, look, can't we just reschedule this a little later? I'd love to have Carl in this if there's a chance he'll be feeling any better." Truth to tell, Ubiquitron had a lot of business tied up with Maximus Investments, so there was a degree of self-interest in this project.

"I have to admit, this casting by your secretary really hits the ... the spirit of this spot, and I'd love to shoot while we still have them."

"You want to shoot the whole thing immediately!? Without Carl Wolper!?"

"All we really need is a capable-looking businessman, preferably one who knows anything about Maximus. Your secretary suggested that it was possible that perhaps you could step in."

"Me?" It was actually not so outrageous an idea. Adam had good recall and good confidence, and Helmut and others had already used him as an extra a few times. "I don't know. Helmut, really, actors are just actors, we can always get others."

Helmut determinedly handed him a script, saying nothing. Adam sighed patiently and flipped through it. He smiled in spite of himself. Carl was to sit down at a cafe and get attended to by a sequence of busty waitresses. Yes, it is a shame he's down for the count, thought Adam, Carl would have loved this.

He handed it back. "Look, it's very cute, but I challenge you to show me one good reason why we immediately have to ... to ... "

Adam looked past Helmut at one woman already made up and outfitted as a waitress. The costume was a bit unreal, clearly made from some stretchy synthetic than a proper cloth -- but then, it probably had to be. The woman had a nice enough face, but carried a staggering bosom, one that had Adam daring to wonder if she was indeed Gogo-sized.

"Helmut? Who is that?"

"That's one of the four that your secretary found. That's Busty Breakstone."

Having made sure to bury himself in work and family -- and dating and the occasional tryst -- Adam was no longer up on every big bust star. "Busty Breakstone?" he echoed a little incredulously.

"I do believe it's a stage name, sir," Helmut kidded slyly.

"Good call ... !" Adam murmured. He reconsidered. Helmut was right about striking while the iron was hot, and this was a controlled environment. He breathed a little easier. What could possibly go wrong? "You know what ... I think Carl himself would be rather surprised at me if I let this opportunity slide. Helmut ... count me in."

Helmut handed the script back to him. "These are going to be your first lines ... "
