Act Casual

I quickly raced to the other side of the desk and tried to look casual, as if nothing had happened. With in moments, the light turned on and Jake called out in alarm "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! What are ye doin' skulkin' about in de dark!?!"

I jumped, now nervous and feeling caught with my hand in the cookie jar. "I... um... didn't know where the light, or you were." I felt meek right after saying this.

He walked over to his desk, eyeing me up with suspicion. "What do ya want?"

I tried to fix my hair and sound confident. Feeling like I failed in both "Um... Need to talk to you about my..."

He got to the computer and was just about to sit down when he cut me off "Air-conditioner? Aye, ye only mentioned it fifty time dis week. I can get te it next..." He stopped as he looked at the screen then up at me.

My heart started beating faster than I've ever had it beat before. He knew I saw didn't he? What was I going to do? How was he going to react?
