Abundant Town, Abundant Mayor

Mayor Mare loved her job, she didn't have to do nearly anything. Not that she had taken the job in the first place because it was easy, it just turned out that way.

When she first took up the mantle she had her hooves full. Legislation, taxes, resolving local disputes, all the normal mayor stuff. Then Twilight Sparkle showed up. At first she was just another headache for the mayor, she and her friends seeming to attract all sorts of mountainous paperwork inducing trouble to the town. But THEN Twilight became a princess, at which point things quickly took a turn for the better. Twilight went on to take up most of the major responsibilities of the town claiming that "As a princess, I have to do SOME kind of political work.". Mayor Mare had found it rather annoying to begin with, but seeing that she was still getting paid her normal wage and was generally still liked by the Ponyvillians she quickly found herself getting quite comfy in her rearranged position. What wasn't there to love? She got to be a politician without all the hassle of actual political work while still working as the figurehead of Ponyville, mostly going out to local events as a judge, which in a rural town as such the one she governed, food was almost always the center of attention. Baking contests, cook-offs, charity sweets drives, pie eating contests, and much more to be named.

Cozy job, basically free money, and constant food, how could this end any other way?
