About the Earthquake.

"My name is Tanner," he says to you before turning his attention to the black man. "And you, Marcus... I know you're the one who set the fire."

Suddenly it dawns on you! The man coughing and shouting for help was Tanner, but how did he escape? "That was you calling for help?" you ask, your curiosity getting the best of you.

"Yeah, that was me. I was hoping that Marcus here would feel guilty and come back. It didn't work out that way, did it?" he asked looking in Marcus's direction.

"You must be a fool if you thought I'd risk my life to save your old ass!" Marcus said in his defense.

"How ironic this is Marcus, for you will do just that, or I will kill you myself. I'll shoot you." Tanner looks back at you. "You know that Earthquake? Let me explain that for you. This is New York, that kind of natural thing doesn't happen here. You see, there is a nuclear power plant about 50 miles from here. Ever since this whole Black Tuesday thing started nobody has been looking after the facility. I was hoping we'd have more time than this, but from the rumbling it appears the hands on the clock are ticking quickly to the end."

The old man pauses, allowing all this to sink in. Brittney looks terrified, and you don't feel much better about the whole situation. The old man continues to keep his cool about the whole situation. For a minute he reminds you of Clint Eastwood, from back in the day when he was younger. You smile at the thought of him pulling out a hand rolled cigar and striking the match across his rough, stubble covered face.

"If I am correct we have about 3 days. Now, we do have two choices," he says pausing again. He turns his piercing eyes to Marcus this time. "Our friend Marcus use to work at the power plant and he might be able to shut it down. Our other option is to put as much distance between us and the plant as possible before it self-destructs. I am afraid though that we might not make it far enough away," he breathes heavily.
