Chapter 7 by 229 229

Who opened it?

A young mother named Phoebe Carr

A young blonde woman, most likely in her early twenties, walked into the office and looked around nervously. "Um, excuse me?" she asked.

"Yes ma'am?" Xavier said politely. Since he started working there, Wendy had made him get a new outfit and wash and brush his hair daily, so he looked much better than the day he first came in.

"Do you allow walk in appointments? I was dropping my child off, and I just happened to notice you. The doctor said they'd be busy for at least two hours, so I though maybe I could try this out?"

Xavier glanced at the schedule. They did allow walk ins, but the time she was asking for was already taken for his appointment. He exhaled and deleted his appointment. "You're in luck, the doctor is free at the moment. I'll send for her." He opened the messaging system, which was designed to be impossible for her to miss, and sent the message.

In the next room, it popped up on her laptop, telling her that they had a patient, and not to worry about his appointment. She winced slightly at the fact that they both knew it was bad enough that he had to cancel, or at least delay, his appointment. She replied to send her in.

Xavier finished up arranging the payment with her. "Dr. Vierre is ready, just go through the door." She nodded, and walked into the room.

"Hello, Mrs. Carr." Wendy said.

"Just call me Phoebe." Pheobe corrected, despite having been married for years, she still wasn't quite used to being referred to as Mrs. Carr.

"Okay Phoebe, and what brings you to my office today?

Why did she come?
