Chapter 24 by syncbush syncbush

What's next?

A weekend away

What with every thing going on, it had all been quite intense recently. There was a lot of sexual tension in the air and we were getting our kicks (good and bad) out of playing these games. On balance I thought it was a good thing and I was happy for us to continue to play but wanted to make sure we did it 'the right way'. Helen was being inventive and fun and, largely, it was making my life more sexy and more exciting. No bad thing.

There was no getting away from the fact that whilst Helen went out to work and got a change of scene, I worked form home which meant I was going a bit stir crazy being in the house all the time. So I was relieved when Helen suggested over dinner that next weekend we head up to a spa she had seen advertised for a weekend break. I am not generally a big fan of spa's, with the perception that they are full of well meaning health nuts who do yoga and drink Kale. But from the brochure this one looked more like a luxury hotel with a spa attached - nice rooms, decent bar and of course the spa facilities, so I was up for it and eager to go.

We drove up. It was a 2 hour drive, firstly on fast roads, and then for the last how into the mountains and windy, narrow roads that gave the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. Eventually, we saw the gated entrance and drove in, up to a grand old main house where the reception was located. It was a old-school white stone main building, obviously a grand old house once upon a time, with large gardens, amongst which were situated cottages which housed the guest rooms. It was a beautiful setting an my heart left at the prospect fo a couple of days and nights here.

We were met at the car and our bags taken, with assurances that they would be placed in our room. We entered the main entrance and walked up to the counter. A young girl, Naomi according to her name tag, checked us in efficiently, and we were escorted to our cottage. On entry, we were impressed by the simple elegance, all white linens, muted decor and decent sized room. There was also a massive king size bed dominating the room, something I hoped to be enjoying my time in later.

First things first...
