A trap set by The Joker

Barbara let out a soft grunt as she came to a landing on a rooftop near the industrial section of Gotham. "That has to be a new glide record," she thought to herself. Tonight was a bit slow as far as criminal activity went, so she was just trying to keep herself busy while still looking out for any sign of trouble. As she walked to the edge of the rooftop, she felt her suit riding up in the back, prompting her to adjust it a bit. Her suit was previously sent through the ringer against Victor Zsasz, so Babs had to resort to using her old blue and gray Batgirl suit. While it still fit her well enough, the tight spandex-like suit didn't leave her much room for undergarments. Not that she hadn't gone commando before while on patrol, but doing it in such a tight costume didn't exactly feel great.

As the vigilante scanned the streets for any movement, a flash of red caught her eye. It came from one of the abandoned buildings that Gotham's industrial district became defined by. The city had tried to get something done with them, but a lack of public interest caused their heels to drag on any proposals that came through. Seeing no other signs of movement, Barbara leapt off the rooftop and glided her way down to the window. It was an old, rusted-out frame so she could slip through it no problem. Her eyes began scanning the dimly lit warehouse floor. The red light was a good distance away from her where she stood, so she began walking towards it.

The light was coming from a small wooden box, painted with shades of green and purple in messy brush strokes. Small paintings of skulls and bats were painted over the colorful exterior. On the right side of the box, a small metal crank extended out of a hole cut into the side. This had Joker's handiwork all over it, that's for sure. However, what could the box contain? There were no obvious booby traps or wires, but she knew all too well to not underestimate the clown prince of crime.
