Chapter 26 by LLation
What's next?
A trap is set
"Babs, I think I found something.”
Barbara looked up from her computer. Dick Grayson sat across from her typing on a laptop connected to the Clocktower’s mainframe. He was out of costume, donning a dark black jacket over a black shirt and denim pants. His expressive gray eyes stared into hers.
She stood up, big breasts jiggling in her blouse as she approached her boyfriend. She put a hand on his broad shoulder. The muscles there relaxed under her touch. She couldn’t help but marvel at the effect her mere presence seemed to have on him.
“What is it?”
Her boyfriend looked up at her before glancing back at his computer screen.
“Take a look. Does this look a little strange to you?”
Barbara leaned over the table.
Interesting. That data...
“Huh. Looks like someone from the outside penetrated the Clocktower’s network. Why didn’t I notice it before? Nevermind, let me trace it real quick.”
The redhead felt Dick’s eyes on her as she returned to her computer. She input a few commands that sent her to the same screen Dick was viewing. She ran a trace program on the kernels of foreign data he’d found there.
“Find anything?” Dick asked.
“Yes. Whoever did this is in Gotham, or at least using a Gotham-based server. Either way, we should definitely check it out.”
Her boyfriend stood from his seat and approached her just as her trace program found the exact address where the signal had originated.
“Huh. An empty, abandoned warehouse. What a classic. I guess some things never change,” he said.
Her lips twitched upwards.
“Want to invite Bruce? Chances are he'd be right at home.”
“No,” Dick chuckled. “No, I don't think that's a good idea. It's bad enough that I'm even here in his city. We should definitely tell Dinah and Helena, though. At least let them know what’s going on since this concerns them, too. Whoever was operating out of that warehouse has probably seen them in their civilian identities.”
Barbara nodded. She would have preferred the handle this with Dick and not involve the other two, or at least not Dinah since she and her fiancé were apparently having a fruitful reunion. She wondered if she’d insist on bringing Oliver along. Hell, he’d probably invite himself once he heard what was going on.
Well, it certainly wouldn’t hurt having him as backup. I just hope he doesn't try to flirt with me again.
“It might be a trap,” she said.
Dick shrugged.
“When isn’t it? Besides, we don’t have to go in. This can be a simple recon mission like the one you did on Cadmus.”
She sighed and turned to face Dick.
“Do you think I’ve gotten paranoid?”
“Oh, definitely,” he smirked. “But I love you anyway.”
Barbara snorted. She felt incredibly irritated, but her chest still felt warm for some reason. She did know that she was glad she called Dick.
“You’d better,” she said.
She stood up and kissed him.
Shayera Hol had been many things in her life. Hero, soldier, conqueror, exile. She’d trained her entire youth to be a soldier of Thanagar only to throw it away and be exiled by the world that birthed her and the world that adopted her. She’d thought it had been the end when she’d left the League, that she’d walk through the rest of her life alone, never truly connecting with another soul ever again. Then her master had taught her the truth. She’d never been happier to be wrong.
Intellectually, she knew her acceptance of her new role beneath the boot of her human master had been programmed into her mind, but that didn’t matter. She still felt satisfaction when carrying out his commands, pride when protecting his person, lust when his eyes roved up and down her body, and love when his beautiful cock pistoned in and out of her pussy or asshole, claiming them as his and his alone.
She’d barely thought of her former lover John Stewart since Jason had taken her. That alone would be enough to earn her everlasting gratitude, but he’d given her so much more than that. Before she’d met Jason, she’d been a mere pariah, a sad shadow of her former self. Now, she had a real purpose again. A person to devote her life to and she would die before she failed him.
Shayera loved her master and would do anything for him. The mere admission of such was euphoric to her. She reminded herself of it constantly, repeating it like a mantra that helped her focus and enjoy the new life her master had given to her.
It was strange. She'd felt terrible about betraying the Justice League, even when she was still firmly on the side of her own people. They'd grown to be her friends and despite herself she'd grown to care for Earth and its inhabitants. Now, those emotions barely seemed to register. Instead, she felt joy. Joy in carrying out the orders of her master. She found herself grinning like giddy fool as she left breadcrumbs in the Clocktower’s computer system for Barbara Gordon and Dick Grayson to find. Nightwing’s arrival had been rather surprising since Dinah had given her the impression that he and Batgirl were rather estranged at the moment. It mattered little, however. Both of them were still human at the end of the day and no match for her superior strength, durability, and technology. Batgirl would find the information Shayera placed there and would track them to the abandoned warehouse Dinah and Helena had helped them find.
Then my master will bring Batgirl and Nightwing over to his way of thinking. They’ll be potent allies and the last stepping stone to eliminating Batman as a threat. Then the entirety of Gotham will be ripe for my master to conquer. I can hardly wait.
The Thanagarian looked up from her wrist computer. Her lips twitched upwards at the sight in front of her.
Her teenage master sat in front of an old metal desk, browsing random videos on the internet site called Youtube. She’d never bothered with the site before she met him and had even largely ignored the internet as an entertainment medium. The programs there just hadn’t really appealed to her beyond gathering information about how humanity might resist a Thanagarian invasion. The site seemed to be a place for gossip hounds to congregate and share the latest inane news about each other, something the soldier instinctively despised. She bore it now because her master watched it, and anything her master enjoyed, she wanted to enjoy too, if only to be that much closer to him.
He clicked on a new video. Her eyes widened when she read the title: “Could a human IMPREGNATE a Thanagarian? REAL SCIENTIST reacts”
W-what? Why is he watching a video like that? And those capitalizations in the title are atrocious. Ahem. Anyway.
Shayera licked her lips. Her pussy pulsed. Ever since she’d mated with John, she’d wondered if humans and Thanagarians could produce offspring together. She’d taken precautions against it, just to be sure. It wouldn’t do for the Thanagarian armada to arrive only to find their deep cover operative baring a half-human child. The idea of John impregnating her had been a frightening concept to her then. Now, as she stared at her master, the man who had given her everything she’d ever wanted, she couldn’t help but wonder what it’d be like to have Jason’s offspring growing inside her.
Her people would be horrified if they found out. The thought amused her like no other. It was just so decadent, so against the vain superiority which characterized her people. They’d largely viewed humans as animals to be controlled, corralled, and culled as needed. For one of them to conquer her body in that way would be seen as an affront to the Empire.
If… if my master deems me worthy enough to carry his offspring, I won’t say no. I won’t be able to and I don’t think I’d even want to deny him.
Shayera looked down at her belly, caressing it with her hands, smiling fondly. She imagined a half-human baby growing inside there. She thought about parading it in front of John just to see how he’d react. Jason, while an adult, was still fairly young. She found it very unlikely that he'd want to be a father anytime soon.
Why do I feel disappointed?
So distracted by her thoughts was she that she barely noticed the object of her affection close his laptop and face her.
“Shayera. Tell me again why we’re in this warehouse in the middle of nowhere?”
The hardened Thanagarian bit her lip nervously. Could Jason tell what she’d been thinking about? She knew he could control people’s minds by staring into their eyes, but she had no idea if he could read people’s minds or not. Dammit, why was it so difficult to maintain her composure around him? She’d invaded planets and killed thousands, but she felt utterly powerless before a mere human boy.
No. Not a boy. A man. My man. My mate. My master. He needs me to be focused so I can protect him and ready him for what’s to come.
“We’re laying a trap for Batgirl and her boyfriend, remember? Dinah, Helena, and Oliver are with them now. When they arrive, they’ll turn on their former comrades and deliver them to you for mental reprogramming.”
Jason smiled nervously. Shayera’s heart ached. It was difficult to remember sometimes that for all the people he had under his control, he was still a teenager.
“Oh, that’s right. Sorry. I get distracted sometimes.”
“It’s nothing. You have a great responsibility on your shoulders, Master. I will never fault you for that,” she said sincerely. “If you ever need anything or just want someone to talk to, you shouldn’t hesitate to take advantage of me. I live to serve you.”
Jason’s smile widened. Her heart skipped a beat as she stared at his impossibly beautiful eyes as they roved over her armor-clad body. Shayera still struggled to determine exactly what color they were. She only knew that they were easily the most attractive eyes she’d ever seen. Whenever she tried to remember, she felt herself lapsing. Her mouth would droop open and her pussy would clench and tingle. Sometimes she’d lose entire minutes of her life, snapping out of her trance and nearly forgetting what she’d been thinking of in the first place. She really loved it when that happened. It was a reminder of how utterly her master controlled her mind.
“I won’t, beautiful,” he promised, his soothing voice massaging her brain. He trailed a hand down her arm and chest before settling on her hip.
Her wrist computer chose that exact moment to chime annoyingly.
Shayera suppressed a frustrated growl before lifting her arm to get a look at the computer readout.
The holographic interface expanded into a square-shaped window depicting the parking lot outside of the abandoned warehouse. The area was dark aside from the lights shining from the sprawl of Gotham beyond. The city hung like a shining specter in the distance, staring down at them as if it were watching.
Five figures, all masked, ran towards the warehouse in the dark.
“They’re here, Master. We should get ready.”
Jason smiled.
“It’s about time,” he muttered before sitting back down at the desk. He opened his laptop again. “You all set, Shayera?”
She unclipped her mace. The impossibly light Nth metal weapon felt comfortable in her hands. It crackled as white electrical bolts leapt between the spikes.
“Yes Master. I’ll back up the others when they make their move. How about you, Master? Are you ready?”
Her master stared at her for a long moment before nodding, a firm expression on his face.
“Yeah. Serving as bait is kind of a new thing for me, but I think I’m ready. It’ll be pretty satisfying to see the looks on their faces when their friends turn against them. I’m also really looking forward to when you make your entrance. I love watching you do that thing when you swoop down like an avenging angel and save my ass. I doubt it’ll be as dramatic as that time you kicked Killer Croc’s ass, but I’m still excited.”
She blushed.
“I-I’ll try to make a spectacle of it, if it’s possible,” Shayera said. “Wish me luck, Master.”
Shayera knelt on the floor before spreading her wings. The appendages thrummed with power that tingled at the edge of her mind, begging her to release it. She obliged, flicking her wings. She left the floor fast and silently, ascending into the warehouse’s rafters. Her master's comforting gaze never left her.
