A traffic accident

Chapter 268 by Shandy Shandy

Frank whistled as he strolled back to his vehicle, thinking that his day away from the home had been far more productive than he had imagined. Lorraine in the antique store and Sandra the now tamed wife had been welcome diversions, and either one of them could make for an entertaining road trip in the future.

He had driven a couple of blocks when the urge for coffee hit him at the same time he noticed a drive thru kiosk ahead. Grinning, Frank pulled behind a mini-van to wait his turn.

When it came he ordered an Americano, and the barista was handing it to him when another car rear ended him with a crunch of metal and glass. Some of the coffee splashed on his pants, and with a muttered curse, he put the coffee down and got out to see what had happened.

"I'm so sorry!" a cute ginger haired young woman exclaimed. "I just didn't see you! I mean I did, but not in time!"

"You were on your phone," Frank growled, looking at the seat beside her where a phone was still displaying a game screen.

"Um...yes...I'm so sorry! Is the damage very bad?"

"Bad enough," Frank growled. "We better move over there and talk about it." He pointed to a small group of tables a dozen yards away.

"Can I get a coffee first? I'm really sorry mister!" She looked at him plaintively, her chin wobbling.

"I'll get your coffee. You go park over there and I'll join you."

"Ok...I'm really sorry..." she said again, as she obeyed his instructions.
