A text from Harold

Hoda looked down at her phone. She usually didn't text and drive because it's not safe at all and she's not that great of a driver in the first place, but Hoda had a feeling that the buzzing was a text from her lover Harold. Harold was the same exact age as Hoda, down to the date and time of their birth. However, he was born in Ohio whereas she was born in Delaware.

Hoda saw on the lock screen of her iphone 5s that it was Harold texting her. She tentatively picked up her phone, looked ahead of her to make sure that she wasn't too close to any other cars, and then swiped and entered her 4 digit password, 8566, to unlock the screen. She looked back at the road. A car not too far up ahead had put on the brakes. Hoda kept her phone in her hand while putting on her own brakes as well. She did not want to crash her brand new 2016 Honda Fit on its first drive. That would be a disaster.

Once she determined it was safe to look back at her phone, Hoda read the text from Harold.

Hoda's heart skipped a beat. She looked back at the road. A red light up ahead. Thank god. Hoda thought. The perfect chance to pause and text back.

Hoda brought her brand new 2016 Honda Fit to a stop. She put all of her focus into her iphone 5s. She started typing a response to Harold's titillating question.

just bought a brand new 2016 honda fit. well, i'm leasing it. $169/month (which includes tax!) for 36 months.

She knew Harold would be impressed with what a good deal she got on the lease. However, she also knew this text wasn't enough. She had to send him something else as well. The light was still red and the walk sign on the cross street hadn't started counting down yet so she knew she had some time. Hoda typed another text.

the car is red.

Hoda was pleased. She knew Harold would enjoy this detail. She looked up and saw the light turn green. She was slightly disappointed. She wanted more time to text Harold. Maybe he won't text back until I'm at another red light Hoda hoped. But then the little typing bubble popped up and Hoda realized this would not be the case. Harold probably wasn't up to anything so he could reply quickly. Hoda decided to pull down a side street and park her car so she could text more efficiently and safely. This was something Hoda did often on account of not liking to text and drive a whole lot.

Hoda put her car into park and her iphone 5s lit up and vibrated with another text from Harold.
