A talk between Dracula and his Wife

Chapter 129 by Colleem Colleem

Zatanna felt clearly that a new magical power had manifested itself in Gotham. She knew this kind of magic very well. She had actually been expecting him much earlier. However, she was not sure how to deal with this situation. On the one hand he would be an excellent ally but on the other hand she knew him too well to get into illusions. He was a fanatic. A man who would not hesitate to use extreme means if necessary. However, she had no idea how he would react to this situation. Surely he had already been to her home and had gone straight to Batman afterwards. She trusted him to find him faster than she did. He always found things he was looking for. A talent that she herself wasn't so good at. Probably it was because of which allies or better said servants he used. A border that Zatanna had never crossed before. And now that she had become a child of the night, her focus had shifted again. Her study of blood magic and necromancy had taken up a lot of her time. Besides, it was still a limit that scared her. Getting involved with demons and the like was a mad idea as a human being, but as a potentially immortal being it was an unnecessary risk that she was not willing to take. However, his appearance in the city required some preparation. Theoretically, she was more powerful than him. Even in her lifetime she had been more powerful than him, but since they had always held back and had never used their powers to the full, she had never risen to his level of power. He also relied more on letting others fight for him. Many of his fights he had survived less because of his own power. And that was exactly what made him dangerous. He had powerful lackeys that he could more or less control.

Returning to Dracula she could see Talia just leaving the room.

"Everything okay?" Zatanna asked and Talia nodded.

"With any luck, it'll be over tomorrow. We lure Bruce into a trap."

" Lure Bruce into a trap? You should be aware that this is going to be anything but easy." Zatanna admitted grudgingly.

"I know that too. But we know his weaknesses better than many others. And he won't be able to resist my bait. Deathstroke will kill dozens of people otherwise. He won't be able to stay away!"

Zatanna nods thoughtfully. No matter how much he had changed, he was still Batman inside him. He was still trying to protect the people of this city. Using Deathstroke as bait could really work. "So you will sacrifice Deathstroke? And then throw yourself at Batman?"

"Not only me. I have Master Dracula's permission to attack him together with you. We should be able to deal with him even if we don't have our full powers in the sunlight." Talia replied calmly.

"Theoretically a good plan, but there's a complication to it." Zatanna said carefully and pointed to a seat while she took a seat herself. After Talia had sat down she told her about Constantine and his abilities. Talia listened to all this and then nodded thoughtfully.

"It almost sounds like he's a magician," she finally said.

"Something like that Talia. But he uses the magical arts in a completely different way than I do. Even after I've turned into a vampire, you can't compare our magic with each other."

"Is he stronger than you in the magic arts?"

"Not directly, no. Few in the world are equal to my magic arts." Zatanna said confidently. However, Zatanna was not a nobody. Talia believed that she belonged to one of the most powerful magicians in the world. But if Constantine was weaker than she was, it was clear to Talia that he was just an impostor, at best a would-be magician.

"Don't worry. I'll take care of it. But as long as he can't take on you, it's not dangerous for us. We should worry more about Vicky. I'm afraid she's going berserk. She attacked me and caused a bloodbath. I think she's dangerous, and not just for our enemies."

Zatanna pulled up her brow and asked. "I was just telling you that a magician is showing up here and you're giving me something like this? Haven't you listened to me?

"Yes, I did, but you are there for something like that! And as far as I know magicians have to wave their hands and say words. And before he does, I'll slit his throat" Talia grinned and left the room again.

"Jesus, Talia. I would have thought you were smarter. You have no idea what awaits you. But I don't think it will take that long." She finally said and got up. As she looked at the window and the street in front of the castle. She could clearly see someone approaching wearing a wide coat.

"So he came?" she heard a voice behind her. As she turned, she saw Dracula standing in the doorway. He was wearing a silk dressing gown tied to his stomach. His irresistible upper body was clearly visible and made Zatanna horny again. However, the moment was a little unfavorable.

"So you also felt it Master?" she finally asked.

"Of course. But he's not here because of me, right? A friend of yours?

Zatanna was a little embarrassed but then nodded. "Yes... somehow already. However, he is different. He is not like the people of the league. He will do everything what is necessary to reach his goal. I'm afraid that he could be quite annoying. I could try to win him for us. He will hardly be able to resist me" she grinned and massaged her breasts briefly.

"Thank you. I've had enough of human lackeys. I can no longer deal with such things. In a few days this city will no longer exist anyway".

"As you command my love! I will take care of him. But forgive me... it sounds as if you are worried about this fight. How can that be?

Dracula pulled up a brow and thought about how he should react to this arrogance. He wasn't used to one of his wives telling him so openly that he was afraid. But then he remembered that in this century emancipation was more advanced. The women in this century were simply different.

"Did you forget how my first fight against Bruce ended?" he finally asked but Zatanna shook her head.

"Of course I didn't, darling. But I'm sure you won't underestimate him again. At that time you thought that he was a normal werewolf... but for some weeks now you have been talking differently about him. You never explained it to us."

Now Dracula smiled again because he was satisfied what his wife had recognized. "I must say the women from this century are impressive. You are smart and confident. Quite different from the earlier centuries. You are absolutely right. This man, this Bruce, is not a normal werewolf. And I fear his pack also not. I have certainly mentioned it before that I once fought against a mighty werewolf..."

"The Werewolf King." She gave him her word.

"Exactly. The most powerful werewolf I've ever seen. His power was not equal to mine, but his mind was. He was not a simple killing machine like the wolves who now roam this city. Even though he was completely insane and bloodthirsty, he could still suppress his instincts."

"So you're afraid Bruce will be like this king as well?"

"No. I fear that Bruce is a hundred times worse. Because he has no anger in him. He somehow managed to control and overcome the beast."

"What... does that mean?" Zatanna asked worriedly.

"That means that I fight against a werewolf who has the intellect of your Batman" said Dracula calmly and could see how Zatanna became even paler than she already was.

Zatanna had already feared that a part of Bruce had survived, at least in its human form. The words her beloved pronounced, however, surpassed her worst fears. She couldn't even imagine what Bruce would be capable of.

"Does that mean... that Bruce still exists in there?" she asked uncertainly. "And that he kept all his abilities and all his knowledge in the body of a werewolf? That would be terrible!

"Yes... and that he passed this... gift... on to his pack. They are different from the werewolves who overrun the city. Talia has created a plan that seems promising. But I told her the same thing that I'm telling you now. Don't underestimate him for a second. I fear you will fail. I have been dreaming for days. It is my destiny to fight against him. Nevertheless I wish you luck tomorrow. Do I also have to worry about that man out there?"

"No dearest!"
