Nicholas strolled into his office building in high spirits. Traffic wasn't too bad, everyone was waving to him today, and the break room had a full pot of coffee. Everything was starting out wonderful.
It gave him even more hope for his project. He had set up a new presentation meeting for some higher-ups in the company, and he was supposed to personally lead and sell it to the investors. He was just waiting for the email back from Mark. Mark was a cruel bastard who hated his guts and went out of his way to make Nicholas' life a living hell, but if the bosses liked the presentation proposal, there was nothing Mark can do.
Nick sat at his computer and opened his email account. Sure enough, there was a message from Mark. Opening the email, Mark read, "Okay, you jackass. Looks like you managed to fool enough of the higher-ups that your stupid proposal has been approved. But, in case you forgot, I have some sway with them, so there's just one little condition you'll have to do if you want to do this presentation yourself."
Nick's eyes widened at the final line in disbelief.
