A phone call

After finishing the episode, Samantha made her way to the shower. And in less than a minute, she was under the steaming spray, she let out a sigh of relief and felt rejuvinated. She dried and stepped out bare-naked and walked out to the living room. The high windows in her living room showed the barren streets outside and the windows of the apartments across the street.

Samantha didn't care about closing the curtains as she walked through her apartment in the nude. She didn't care. What would be the big deal if someone saw, as long as the voyeur wasn't someone she knew personally, it wasn't a concern for her.

She drifted towards the couch when she heard her phone on the kitchen counter make a loud buzz. Slightly annoyed, she walked to the kitchen and picked it up. It was Nicole, one of her best friends. "Sam. How's it going?"

"Oh hey Nicole, it's going great! How are you doing?"

"I'm great. How's the new apartment feeling? I guess you've had a lot of time to get settled."

"Yeah. Didn't expect the pandemic to hit right when I got it. It's nice, a little bit lonely though." Samantha said.

"Same here. Me and Tom are going crazy. But hey, we just got vaccinated and figured there's a lot of people we haven't seen in a while. We thought we might come over."

Samantha looked down on her naked self, worry growing at the base of her neck. "Sure, I'd like to, sometime."

"Well, we were just down the street. And we got pizza!" Nicole said excitedly.

"Oh well, now's really not the---"

"Oh come on! What could you possibly have going on?"

"I know, but you see.. I uh..."

"Come on.. It's almost been a year!" Nicole whined.

"Sure, come on up." Samantha said. She figured she had enough time to put on something from her closet before Nicole and her boyfriend showed up at her door.

"Great! See you in four minutes then." Nicole said as she hung up.
