A normal week

The week went by without a hitch. Dean went to work, Taylor went to school and Brooke worked from home, just a normal week.

During the week Taylor asked her parents if Jack could come over to hang out. Brooke instantly said “Yes of course” before Dean had a say and before they could talk about it. Taylor left the room happy. Brooke turned to Dean who looked a little mad, “They are just hanging out, it’s not a big deal!”

Friday rolled around and when Dean got home from work he wasn’t greeted at the door, “Hello?” Dean said into the house. Brooke answered from the kitchen, “We are in here!” She said.

Dean walked into the kitchen to see Brooke, Taylor and Jack sitting at the table. “Oh hello everyone,” Dean said. He was returned with hellos from everyone. “I was just getting to know Jack better, come sit.” Brooke said. Dean sat in the chair next to Brooke with Taylor and Jack across the table. Taylor already looked embarrassed, Jack was basically getting interrogated.

Dean and Brooke found out that Jack was an athlete just like Taylor and he was in high level course just like she was. They seemed pretty compatible so far in Dean’s eyes. Jack was pretty skinny though, he needed to gain some muscle and Dean could see how someone would find him attractive. They also learned that he lived on the other side of town, a nicer neighborhood than theirs so he must come from money.

“How old are you, Jack?” Dean asked. “I’m 18, just had my Birthday last month actually.” Jack answered. “Happy belated birthday!” Brooke said. Taylor just stayed silent throughout. “So Jack, what do your parents do?” Dean asked. “Uh, well my moms a photographer…” Jack started saying. Dean thought that job isn’t enough to afford a house on that side of town, “And your Dad?” Dean asked. “…we’ll be used to play video games for a living but now he works for a company that test games and stuff…” Jack continued.

“Wait what?” Brooke interrupted him.
