What next?
A night out
We rode in uncomfortable silence from our house to a local steak house. I had thought that he was in my past and that the future for me involved Susan and Carla, but here he was again, the person who had made me feel like I mattered. The butterflies in my stomach told me that everything that I had thought was settled wasn't quite settled.
We parked and then he met me at the front of the car, taking my hand in his. I wanted to pull away, but I couldn't. I hadn't realized how badly I had missed how he made me feel.
"I've missed you," he said. "I should have fought for you, but my dad showing up like that just confused me. I've been alone at my place every night just wishing you were still there."
I didn't know how to respond, so I just looked at him, letting him talk. Instead he spun me towards him, wrapped his arms around me and gripped my ass firmly as he kissed me. I felt myself melt in his arms. Soon we were making out right there on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant.
