A lady ready for church

On the other side, a woman in her twenties awaited. Dressed in a floral dress that reached down past her knees, tan stockings peek out with a set of a white heels. Face caked in makeup, black locks of hair had been allowed to hang on down. Which made their chocolate brown eyes all the more clearer.

"Mother, it's been too long!" the woman announced, going in for a hug. Delia accepted it. But at the same time, she couldn't quite believe her eyes. Something about this girl seemed familiar to her. Try as she might, the pieces just wouldn't come together. Even more so when she noticed the engagement band on the woman's ring finger.

"Ash?"

The woman nodded. Tears were the first things to come from Delia. A deep breath followed. None of this made any sense whatsoever.

"Well... I'm Ashely now." she explained and watched her mother focus in on the band. "Don't you like it? My significant other got it for me."
