A lab!

“Shit!” says Sabrina. Today’s assignment is a lab. Labs are Sabrina’s least favorite thing to do in chemistry, as they usually take up all period and are generally pretty boring. Sabrina groans and walks over to her lab station. It’s gonna be a long day.

“Okay class,” says Mrs. Smith, the teacher. “Today, we will be doing an experiment with highly corrosive acids. Everybody, go to the closet and get an apron and gloves. If the acid makes contact with your clothes, they will disintegrate. And we wouldn’t want that, would we now?” she laughs.

Yeah right, Sabrina thinks. This is just her way of getting us to allow her rules and wear aprons and shit. “There’s no way Mrs. Smith would make us work with acid that could make our fucking clothes disappear,” she mutters as she makes her way to the closet. By the time she gets there, though, all the aprons and gloves are gone! They’ve been picked through completely, leaving Sabrina with nothing.

“Umm, Mrs. Smith?”

“Yes, Sabrina?”

“There’s no aprons or gloves left in the closet!”

“Hmmm,” she mumbles. “Well, that’s alright. You can still do the lab, just be very cautious. You wouldn’t want to spend the rest of your school-day in a bra and panties!”she laughs.

Sabrina smiles back awkwardly. “T-thanks, Mrs. Smith, I’ll go get ready.”

As Sabrina walks back to her table, she begins to worry. What if I accidentally spill something on myself? What if there’s an accident? What if someone spills the acid on me on purpose? “Snap out of it, Sabrina, you’re worrying too much!” she says to herself. “Everything will be alright...”

“Everybody, finish collecting the materials and get back to your station. We’re starting the lab now.” Mrs. Smith says.

Sabrina rushes back to her station, acids, beakers, and test-tubes in hand. Time to get to work.
