A history lesson

They stepped off the ramp of the ship onto the landing pad of the royal palace. It wasn’t alien in that the people here looked different, in fact it was actually one of the few Human planets that were accepted into The Republic. It was more that everything, from the marble architecture to the fashion, was different from the place they had called home their whole lives.

A massive marble palace rose up before them, flying buttresses connected to the main structure that, in essence, was a colossal domed cylinder covered in various niches and arcades. A stained glass rose window the size of the ship they flew in on framed the palace doors below it as they walked through the parade grounds towards it.

Rosa and Kynan, wearing the formal robes of their home planet, followed the Prime Minister’s delegation through the elaborate palace doors into the building itself.

The inside was no less extravagant: murals several stories tall lined the areas of the wall between pillars. Some of them depicted the founding of the planet by the first settlers, but as they walked down the long hall to the throne room the paintings reflected more and more the seemingly favorite pastime of the planet’s inhabitants. The tight, modest space suits depicted in paintings of the first settlers gave way to looser fabrics until eventually at the end of the Hall most of the individuals depicted seemed to be wearing only sheer, see-through togas if anything at all. Likewise the first paintings depicted the hardships of the first settlers in establishing the royal city, but soon the activities became more romantic in nature, both in the artistic sense and the literal, as some of them depicted the subject engaging in sexual activity. Each painting highlighted an individual as the main subject, and Rosa soon guessed that what she was seeing was not only the history of the planet but the royal lineage as well. In the final painting a naked girl who looked to be in her late teens was depicted as riding a nude older male cowgirl-style while two females on either side of her wearing sheer togas sucked on her breasts while fingering themselves.

“If this is the Queen” Rosa thought “I can’t wait to meet her”

The doors at the end of the hallway opened and the delegation entered.
