A game plan for Vignesh to hook up with Ruby

“So, what did you two think?” you ask, walking up to Vignesh and Ruby. “Tough quiz, huh?”

“It wasn’t so bad,” Vignesh says, smiling at the girl of his dreams. “Especially since I had such a great partner.”

“Aww, that’s sweet,” Ruby says, giving Vignesh a bright smile. “I thought you were pretty great myself!”

She turns to you and says: “He’s so smart, isn’t he?”

“And good looking too,” you add.

“Especially today,” Ruby nods approvingly at Vignesh. She reaches out and squeezes his arm, gesturing at his new clothes. “This shirt looks really good on you!”

“Thanks,” Vignesh manages to say, his face starting to heat up a bit. “I think… you look quite pretty today.” You give him a thumbs-up from behind Ruby’s back, gesturing for him to push his luck a bit further. “I’m uh… free for the next couple hours, if you want to come hang out with me?”

“We should get lunch,” Ruby smiles. “Unless you had something different in mind?”

“Lunch is good,” Vignesh eagerly nods. “Then there’s… well you said you were interested in some of the math stuff I was talking about earlier, right? We could maybe head to my room and check out some of it afterwards? I’ve got some good books…”

“You can tell me all about it then,” she says brightly, reaching out and grabbing his hand. “But first, lunch!”

You give an ecstatic Vignesh a cheery wave goodbye as he disappears with Ruby.

A couple hours later, you get a text from Vignesh:

We did it!

I never would have been able to get there without your help.

I owe you one, big time.
